En ellas se abordó la situación actual del deporte profesional en España, entendiendo por éste aquel integrado por los clubes pertenecientes a la Liga de Fútbol Profesional y la Asociación de Clubes de Baloncesto; y el deporte profesionalizado, que si bien no se encuadra en el marco jurídico anterior, cada día tiene más relevancia en el sistema deportivo actual. Esta obra aglutina tanto a expertos jurídicos de la academia iusdeportivista (provenientes de la Filosofía del Derecho, el Derecho Administrativo, el Derecho Mercantil, el Derecho Penal o el Derecho Financiero y Tributario) como a destacados representantes de los operadores deportivos. En un primer bloque se aborda el rol del Derecho y la Administración pública ante los retos del deporte profesional y profesionalizado en la sociedad actual. A continuación, se exponen cuáles son estos retos en particular, debido entre otras cosas a la vis atractiva que provoca esta modalidad deportiva, en el terreno futbolístico (buen gobierno, intermediarios, arbitraje, prueba videográfica, tributación de los derechos de imagen, recursos financieros de los clubes y sociedades anónimas deportivas o aplicación de la Ley concursal), con una referencia final a la profesionalización del rugby en España. Por último, de manera monográfica se estudia el fraude y el dopaje como lacras del deporte profesional.

Book excerpt: In essence, Computing with Words (CWW) is a system of computation in which the objects of computation are predominantly words, phrases and propositions drawn from a natural language. CWW is based on fuzzy logic. In science there is a deep-seated tradition of according much more respect to numbers than to words. In a fundamental way, CWW is a challenge to this tradition. What is not widely recognized is that, today, words are used in place of numbers in a wide variety of applications ranging from digital cameras and household appliances to fraud detection systems, biomedical instrumentation and subway trains. CWW offers a unique capability—the capability to precisiate natural language. Unprecisiated (raw) natural language cannot be computed with. A key concept which underlies precisiation of meaning is that of the meaning postulate: A proposition, p, is a restriction on the values which a variable, X—a variable which is implicit in p—is allowed to take. CWW has an important ramification for mathematics. Addition of the formalism of CWW to mathematics empowers mathematics to construct mathematical solutions of computational problems which are stated in a natural language. Traditional mathematics does not have this capability.

The analytical issues addressed include the algebraic representation of fuzzy models of different types, their approximation properties, and stability analysis of fuzzy control systems. Several design aspects are addressed, including performance specification for control systems in a fuzzy decision-making framework and complexity reduction in multivariable fuzzy systems. In the third part of the book, a number of applications of fuzzy control are presented. It is shown that fuzzy control in combination with other techniques such as fuzzy data analysis is an effective approach to the control of modern processes which present many challenges for the design of control systems. One has to cope with problems such as process nonlinearity, time-varying characteristics for incomplete process knowledge. Examples of real-world industrial applications presented in this book are a blast furnace, a lime kiln and a solar plant. Other examples of challenging problems in which fuzzy logic plays an important role and which are included in this book are mobile robotics and aircraft control.
