Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full."—John 10:10 Most people spend their entire lives victims of a robbery they didn’t know has taken place. We go about our daily lives making decisions based on lies we didn’t know we believed, following destructive patterns we aren’t able to see, and operating within an invisible boundary that was never set. Melanie Waldman shares her journey from darkness and chaos to freedom and fullness in Look What Love Has Done: My Journey Toward Freedom & Fullness. There was chaos, but now there is peace. There was sadness, but now there is joy. There was loss, but now there is abundance. In Look What Love Has Done, Melanie shares her life story which Jesus miraculously rewrote. She reminds readers that this is our God and this is what He does. He is making all things new. He is working. He is restoring. When there are so many voices running through our hearts and minds, how can we discern the truth? Melanie’s journey offers both inspiration and practical wisdom. She introduces us to her new Godly beliefs—what she calls her new operating system— and supporting scriptures; Truth every believer can take hold of. Through her experience Melanie reveals how centering our hearts and minds on Godly wisdom, faith flourishes and fullness is restored. "This vulnerable true life story of God's restoration of one who has experienced the worst kind of abuse and trauma will give you the hope that He can heal, restore and redeem you!” Lee and Cindi Whitman, Executive Directors Restoring the Foundations International "Melanie, thank you for sharing how Jesus miraculously transformed your devastating childhood into a life of beautiful service. Your treasure trove of beloved parts of scripture carries the light of Christ straight to the heart." Toni Nieuwhof, Mediator, Author, Speaker Carey Nieuwhof Communications

Book excerpt: Kivuli Farley is an East African teen who has already suffered a tumultuous childhood when she arrives in America to meet the Roses who had been patrons and friends of her great-grandfather for four decades. Spirited and generous, Kivuli is anxious to learn more about her Maasai ancestor buried in Nevada before she was born. But the present journey proves to be as challenging as the past when she discovers a secret the old African had kept that led to a devastating tragedy for the Rose family. What Kivuli desires above all is to find a way for those still wounded to heal and a path to redemption for two women worlds apart: an incarcerated child abductor, and the killer she knows best – her own mother. As she opens herself to the teachings of a Lakota Sioux horse master, the lesson in a provocative painting, the friendship of an adopted Indian boy with two dads, the surprising spiritual views of a South African Catholic priest, and ultimately a dangerous communication with the seemingly unredeemable kidnapper, the way becomes clear. In a whirlwind tale of diverse cultures, faiths, and passions, victims and perpetrators draw inexorably together in a search for the meaning of forgiveness.

Download or read book The Nature of Love Volume 3 written by Irving Singer and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2009-02-27 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The final volume of Singer's trilogy discusses ideas about love in the work of writers ranging from Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, and Tolstoy to Freud, Proust, D. H. Lawrence, Shaw, and others in the contemporary world. Irving Singer's trilogy The Nature of Love has been called "majestic" (New York Times Book Review), "monumental" (Boston Globe), "one of the major works of philosophy in our century" (Nous), "wise and magisterial" (Times Literary Supplement), and a "masterpiece of critical thinking [that] is a timely, eloquent, and scrupulous account of what, after all, still makes the world go round" (Christian Science Monitor). In the third volume, Singer examines the pervasive dialectic between optimistic idealism and pessimistic realism in modern thinking about the nature of love. He begins by discussing "anti-Romantic Romantics" (focusing on Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, and Tolstoy), influential nineteenth-century thinkers whose views illustrate much of the ambiguity and self-contradiction that permeate thinking about love in the last hundred years. He offers detailed studies of Freud, Proust, Shaw, D. H. Lawrence, and Santayana, and he maps the ideas about love in Continental existentialism, particularly those of Sartre and de Beauvoir. Singer finally envisages a future of cooperation between pluralistic humanists and empirical scientists. This last volume of Singer's trilogy does not pretend to offer the final word on the subject, any more than do most of the philosophers he discusses, but his masterful work can take its place beside their earlier investigations into these vast and complex questions.

"I've been chasing you for so long, what do you think?" Xu Xu clearly felt his heart pounding in his chest, however…his logic wasn't right. "When did you follow me?" Ji Bai raised his black eyes and looked at her silently...Every morning I practice with her, I personally teach her to shoot, make the criminal squad call her sister-in-law… what if I don't have to chase her?"…She let out a long sigh, to calm her heart rate again."You don't have to follow me anymore."Ji Bai didn't expect her to say that at all. His heart sank: "What do you mean?" Xu Xu looked into his eyes: "I like you too, so you don't need to pursue." If Snail Has Love is Dinh Mo's latest work. The title of the story seems a bit "cheesy" but is actually quite unique, unique from the idea to the character image.Although If the Snail has love, there is an investigation to solve the case, but Dinh Mo insists that this is not a crime or detective novel, the emotional element accounts for half. One of the reasons why I like Dinh Mo's work is that the heroine is intelligent and personable. If Snail has love is no exception, the female lead impresses readers from the first chapter, it can be said to be a rare character in love language. The male lead is of course still as great as the previous works. Ding Mo spent a month collecting materials and preparing for this novel, I believe she will not disappoint readers.
