Book Look Into Bible Series Revelation Letters

Download or read book Look Into Bible Series Revelation Letters written by Graham Kettle and published by . This book was released on 2021-02-04 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Look Into materials provide the reader with an overview of Scripture at a level to help personal knowledge and application for the individual, together with Bible study and sermon material for the hard-working church leader. Look Into series are intended to provide an overview of Bible books and to pick out main topics. In this way, the reader is left with a real flavour of the specific Biblical subject, with the hope that, in due time, he/she might be encouraged into a deeper study. This study of the seven Revelation letters of John to the seven churches of Asia demonstrates just about every known church situation and meets our aims to assist the reader to study, learn and apply the Word of God. Why? Because we live in a time when the Word of God has never been easier to obtain, yet it is a time when that same Word is so little understood. This creates one of the greatest dangers to the Church, coming from within, not from outside.

Book excerpt: “In Revelation 2:2, Jesus tells the church in Ephesus something intimate—Google Street View intimate. He says, ‘I know your works’ (Oida ta erga sou). Four words don’t seem like much, but in the Greek, it packs a punch.… Jesus chooses the Greek word oida, which expresses total, comprehensive knowledge. It is intimate knowledge that comes from being up close and personal. This knowledge isn’t hazy on the details. It doesn’t struggle to remember. It preserves the particulars. In the mind’s eye, everything is sharp and clear, like a well-taken photograph.” —Chris Palmer Letters from Jesus: Studies from the Seven Churches of Revelation explores Christ’s warnings to the seven most prominent churches in Asia Minor in the book of Revelation. These letters date back to 95 A.D., but they help us make a fascinating discovery about civilization: life hasn’t changed that much over the last two millennia. Author Chris Palmer illustrates the truths contained in the Letters from Jesus using modern, everyday examples. The host of the popular podcast Greek for the Week, he unpacks Greek words and phrases in these verses from Revelation with humor, joy, and biblical scholarship. Why study Greek, even just a little bit? As Chris explains, looking at the New Testament in the original language in which it was written can offer us some beautiful insights into God’s Word. “It’s like reading the Bible in high definition,” he says. Also, “studying God’s Word in the original language forces us to approach it with reverence and awe, humbling ourselves to obey what it says, whether it’s something we want to hear or not.”

Not a prank, not a hoax, but the genuine article - a letter from heaven, from the risen Lord, written personally to you and your church. If hearing from God sounds intriguing, then this little book is for you. Several decades after His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension, Jesus revealed Himself, in a vision from heaven, to the apostle John. In Sincerely, Jesus we will look at the amazing relevance each letter holds for life in the twenty-first century. Book Revelation God S Last Love Letter

Download or read book Revelation God S Last Love Letter written by Kenneth E. Nissen and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-04-16 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revelation is addressed to the churches in chapter one and for the churches in the last chapter. One would expect Gods last love letter to be a favorite book among Christians, but it isnt. It isnt because it isnt understood. This book has been highly received by numerous evangelical leaders and is used as the textbook on Revelation in Bible colleges as far away as Africa and India. From the first, I was taken with the desire of Ken to help people see that the book of Revelation was written primarily to help people in their walk with God in the midst of troubled times, and not as a text to figure out the sequence of the end times. This was also the first time I had seen the theme of overcoming given as the main thrust of Revelation. So, I had to read his manuscript to see if in fact he had come upon something I had missed. I am convinced that he has. I have found his book to be extremely helpful to see the desire of God to have his children to be overcomers, and the resources available to us to do just that as the end approaches. And the book is more than that, for it does not side-step the questions that are raised as one reads the book of Revelation. Stephen R. Bradley, Director of Field Education, Columbia Bible College. Columbia, South Carolina
