Book Logistics Support Analysis Techniques Guide

Download or read book Logistics Support Analysis Techniques Guide written by ARMY MATERIEL COMMAND ALEXANDRIA VA. and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) is the selective application of scientific and engineering efforts undertaken during the acquisition process, as part of the system engineering and design process, to assist in complying with supportability and other integrated logistics support (ILS) objectives. LSA is a regulatory requirement and is required in all materiel acquisition programs without exception. The tasks required for performance of LSA are cited in MIL- STD-1388-1A. The US Army Materiel Command (AMC) ILS Study identified the requirement to strengthen the LSA program in AMC and develop additional capabilities to better conduct LSA on AMC acquisition programs. Also, the study found that even though MIL-STD-1388-1A defines the LSA program requirements, there was no source available to define he procedures/approaches for LSA program and assist in the accomplishment of those LSA tasks set forth in MIL-STD-1388- 1A.
