Book Recommended Design Specifications for Live Load Distribution to Buried Structures

Download or read book Recommended Design Specifications for Live Load Distribution to Buried Structures written by D. Lee Petersen and published by Transportation Research Board. This book was released on 2010 with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report provides recommendations to revise the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications relating to the distribution of live load to buried structures. The report details the development of simplified design equations (SDEs) for structural response based on three-dimensional (3D) analysis of 830 buried culverts. In addition, the report provides guidelines for conducting 2D and 3D modeling for design situations with conditions not covered by the SDEs. The material in this report will be of immediate interest to roadway and bridge designers.

Book Calculation of Load Distribution in Stiffened Cylindrical Shells

Download or read book Calculation of Load Distribution in Stiffened Cylindrical Shells written by Hans Ebner and published by . This book was released on 1938 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thin-walled shells with strong longitudinal and transverse stiffening (for example, stressed-skin fuselages and wings) may, under certain simplifying assumptions, be treated as static systems with finite redundancies. In this report the underlying basis for this method of treatment of the problem is presented and a computation procedure for stiffened cylindrical shells with curved sheet panels indicated. A detailed discussion of the force distribution due to applied concentrated forces is given, and the discussion illustrated by numerical examples which refer to an experimentally determined circular cylindrical shell.

Book Effects of Compressibility on the Maximum Lift Characteristics and Spanwise Load Distribution of a 12 foot span Fighter type Wing of NACA 230 series Airfoil Sections

Download or read book Effects of Compressibility on the Maximum Lift Characteristics and Spanwise Load Distribution of a 12 foot span Fighter type Wing of NACA 230 series Airfoil Sections written by E. O. Pearson and published by . This book was released on 1945 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Force and pressure-distribution measurements were made on a fighter-type wing model of conventional NACA 230-series airfoil sections in the Langley 16-foot high-speed tunnel to determine the effects of compressibility on the maximum lift characteristics and the span-wise load distribution. The range of angle of attack investigated was from -10 to +24 degrees. The Mach range of from 0.20 to 0.70 at small and medium angles of attack and from 0.15 to 0.625 at very large angles of attack. Maximum lift coefficient increased up to a Mach number of 0.3, decreased rapidly to a Mach number of 0.55, and then decreased moderately. At high speeds, maximum lift coefficient was reached at from 10 to 12 degrees beyond the stalling angle. In high-speed stalls, resultant load underwent a moderate shift outward.

Book Evaluation of a Parachute Load Distribution Measuring System During Low Altitude Drop Tests

Download or read book Evaluation of a Parachute Load Distribution Measuring System During Low Altitude Drop Tests written by I. S. Hoffman and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In conjunction with the low-altitude preflight drop test phase of the NASA Supersonic High-Altitude Parachute Experiments (SHAPE) program, canopy-load-distributed measurements were made on each of three types of parachute during deployment (by means of a mortar) from an aircraft-dropped payload. Loads were measured with miniature load cells at various locations on the canopies and in the suspension lines of 30- and 40-foot-diameter (9.14 and 12.19 meters) parachutes, with a total of seven measurements of this type being made on each of seven instrumented parachute drops. Out of a total of 49 such individuual measurement attempts, there were six individual load-cell problems, which included one of lead-wire breakage during parachute deployment. Total parachute load measurements were also made during each test by means of a tensionmeter in the main riser line. In addition, for the total parachute instrumentation program, data from approximately 40 percent of the channels were not obtained due apparently to onboard telemetry malfunction.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Use Wireshark 2 to overcome real-world network problems Key Features Delve into the core functionalities of the latest version of Wireshark Master network security skills with Wireshark 2 Efficiently find the root cause of network-related issues Book Description Wireshark, a combination of a Linux distro (Kali) and an open source security framework (Metasploit), is a popular and powerful tool. Wireshark is mainly used to analyze the bits and bytes that flow through a network. It efficiently deals with the second to the seventh layer of network protocols, and the analysis made is presented in a form that can be easily read by people. Mastering Wireshark 2 helps you gain expertise in securing your network. We start with installing and setting up Wireshark2.0, and then explore its interface in order to understand all of its functionalities. As you progress through the chapters, you will discover different ways to create, use, capture, and display filters. By halfway through the book, you will have mastered Wireshark features, analyzed different layers of the network protocol, and searched for anomalies. You’ll learn about plugins and APIs in depth. Finally, the book focuses on pocket analysis for security tasks, command-line utilities, and tools that manage trace files. By the end of the book, you'll have learned how to use Wireshark for network security analysis and configured it for troubleshooting purposes. What you will learn Understand what network and protocol analysis is and how it can help you Use Wireshark to capture packets in your network Filter captured traffic to only show what you need Explore useful statistic displays to make it easier to diagnose issues Customize Wireshark to your own specifications Analyze common network and network application protocols Who this book is for If you are a security professional or a network enthusiast and are interested in understanding the internal working of networks, and if you have some prior knowledge of using Wireshark, then this book is for you.
