Download or read book The Indian Capture of Jacob Kneisle Nicely written by Ronald Earl Nicely and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-12-19 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Four-Mile Run, located near the town of Ligonier, PA, was the scene of many conflicts and captures during the time from 1760 through 1790. The story of the (Kneisle) Nicely family is just one of stories from this area. The Knusli Mennonite ancestors originated in Zurich Switzerland and traveled through London to Philadelphia and then to Lancaster, PA in 1717. The (Kneisle) Nicely descendant line moved to a homestead near Four-Mile Run Circa 1761. This book covers their journeys and the Indian capture of Jacob Kneisle. It is a remarkable story covering his capture, his life as a Native American, and the reunion of his descendants with the Nicely family 228 years after his capture. Nicely presents several other capture stories to give the reader a historic view of the dangerous conditions that existed around Four-Mile Run during the Revolutionary War. His interest in genealogy led him to the capture of Jacob Kneisle (Nicely), known by his Native American name of Tsu-Ka-We or Crow.

Download or read book Right Now Counts Forever written by Robert Charles Sproul and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 1398 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Our Christian assertion is that there is more to our lives than 'now.' If there is not then even the now is meaningless. But we say now counts. Why? Now counts because we are creatures who have an origin and a destiny which is rooted and grounded in God." --R.C. Sproul ------ There is no such thing as a meaningless moment. Since we're made in God's image and created for His eternal glory, everything we think, say, and do today matters forever. The question is, How should this truth direct our daily lives? For more than forty years, Dr. R.C. Sproul wrote his recurring column in Tabletalk magazine, Right Now Counts Forever, to apply the teachings of the Bible and Reformed theology to everyday life. No topic was off-limits because every part of our lives bears enduring significance. Through the years, Dr. Sproul helped Christians give careful thought to topics in theology and history, politics and current events, relationships and entertainment, and more. In this four-volume collection, hundreds of Dr. Sproul's columns have been brought together for the first time. Written to serve the church, this treasury of theological reflection can help guide believers of all ages to live with eternity in mind and devote all of life to the glory of God.
Download or read book The Holiness of God written by R.C. Sproul and published by NavPress. This book was released on 2023-09-05 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Central to God’s character is the quality of holiness. Yet, even so, most people are hard-pressed to define what God’s holiness precisely is. Many preachers today avoid the topic altogether because people today don’t quite know what to do with words like “awe” or “fear.” R. C. Sproul, in this classic work, puts the holiness of God in its proper and central place in the Christian life. He paints an awe-inspiring vision of God that encourages Christian to become holy just as God is holy. Once you encounter the holiness of God, your life will never be the same.
