Book In Him I Live Move and Have My Being

Download or read book In Him I Live Move and Have My Being written by Marshall Osborne Jr. and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2006-08-30 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To be his second publication to the Christendom, the book is heralded for its spiritual enlightenment, enrichment and encouragement. The author has used the concepts of conformation, transformation and reformation to bring out his spiritual walk with Christ which has been quite rewarding to him and those he has ministered to. No doubt he can exclaim the satisfaction, contentment and gain as it comes from being perfected and used by his God. His intent of this literature is to make the scriptures an opened and rewarding experience with any believer who wants to commit his life and time in becoming the being God wants to create. Apparently he has learned the secret of developing an eternal perspective in the midst of his earthly problems. For he was able to live above his circumstances and rejoice even while being persecuted because of his firm grasp on who he was in Christ and where he was going. In spite of his life situations, he could write, "For in him I live, and move, and have my being." Being confident of this very thing, that He (God) which hath begun a good work in him will perform it until the day of his coming.

Book excerpt: Hello, Boomers! We're dedicating this book to you so you can get that old "boom" back. With over 100 years of fitness and nutrition experience combined, we knew as we rounded the corner to another year and another phase of our lives, we needed to write this book, "If You Want to Live, Move!" and share our best secrets and tips with our fellow boomers (and seniors!). We're keyed-up to show how you, too, can enjoy abundant strength, energy, flexibility and endurance to live a long, productive life which you richly deserve. We feel you are holding in your hands a prescription for ageless energy and timeless health. We are fitness and nutrition professionals. As good fortune would have it, we stumbled upon the secret many, many years ago (it's not really a secret, as you will learn) of living a life of vitality, optimism and prime physical health. One of us was born in 1926, and the other was born in 1961. One of us lives on the west coast and one in the Midwest. One of us is a woman, one of us, a man. One, a senior (from the greatest generation that ever lived), one a boomer. On the surface, it appears we don't have much in common. In fact, we have a lot in common; the most important is this: We both have a passion for teaching others the right way to live fuller, richer lives! You could say we both 'talk the talk' and 'walk the walk'. So, let us talk to you about a new beginning and walk you through it! This book is about how to dig deep to create more energy, immense joy and better health. It explores the intersection of fitness and aging, and ultimately answers these two questions: Is there a secret magic potion for living longer? (yes and no) Which is most important, diet or exercise, for feeling younger and being healthier? (both) We put our brains together to come up with a plan for changing your life for the better. In this book, you'll learn easy, effective ways to deal with difficult challenges we all face as we climb over the next hill, including low energy, increasing weight and sagging skin, achy bones and joints, irritability, and melancholy. But our main focus will be on showing you how moving your body and eating high-value foods will increase the odds that you ride into your golden years with energy and vitality. You don't need a background in anatomy or physiology to use this book. It simply weaves together information that we've learned over the course of our lives, and you can choose the tools presented here that work best for you. The mind and body are fascinating subjects, but we haven't attempted to be comprehensive here. Rather, we focused on simple methods that have had an effect on our clients over the years. Different things work for different people, so choose the exercises and tips that work best for you.A word of caution, please seek advice from a medical professional before you begin any new exercise regimen or diet. Finally, if we know one thing for sure, it's that making small changes consistently will lead to big changes in your body and your experience of daily living.Remember this, when you change your habits, you change your life."If You Want to Live, Move!" is an update simplified program that empowers you to take the right action each day on a consistent basis so you can realize the rich rewards that are rightfully yours - energy, strength, and renewed health. This book is designed so that you can quickly access the nuts and bolts of our program and get right to it.We have laid out this book to be an easy (and illuminating) read. • Pages : 132 pages

Download or read book Live Move Have written by Greg Fawcett and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-07-08 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To LIVE | MOVE| and HAVE in Christ is quite simple. Yet we make our lives so complicated. Our human nature is to WANT, GET, AND CONQUER, yet God's Word will give us all the fullness of life we could ever want by simply obeying the instructions and promises that God has for us all. We'll never fully understand the scope of God's love until we meet Him face-to-face. Paul tried really hard to express it in terms that we could understand. In Acts 9, Paul experienced a face-to-face encounter with Jesus, one that changed the course of his entire life. This encounter hit Paul so hard that he spent the rest of his life trying to teach everyone he touched the love of God. This devotional is a guide that is supported by biblical teachings to BEING. Right or wrong, we all have courses set out for our lives. Sometimes we get off course and need to hit the reset button. Think of this perhaps in GPS terms, a recalculation to get us back on the right course that God wants for us. We are all unique and have special gifts that God can use to further His kingdom. By studying His Word together, we'll discover how to recalculate our lives to LIVE | MOVE | and HAVE what God wants for our lives. For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, "For we are also His offspring." (Acts 17:28 NKJV)

Book excerpt: The NIV Application Commentary helps you communicate and apply biblical text effectively in today's context. Faith and action: that inseparable link is a golden thread running through Acts. In 2,000 years, one thing hasn't changed: God's heart for lost people. As long as he acts on their behalf, he will call us to play an integral part in his deeds. Acts lifts us up out of the armchair and spurs us to kingdom action, trusting that God will be with us. Ajith Fernando shares perspectives on the book of Acts that reveal its enduring relevance for our twenty first-century lives. To bring the ancient messages of the Bible into today's context, each passage is treated in three sections: Original Meaning. Concise exegesis to help readers understand the original meaning of the biblical text in its historical, literary, and cultural context. Bridging Contexts. A bridge between the world of the Bible and the world of today, built by discerning what is timeless in the timely pages of the Bible. Contemporary Significance. This section identifies comparable situations to those faced in the Bible and explores relevant application of the biblical messages. The author alerts the readers of problems they may encounter when seeking to apply the passage and helps them think through the issues involved. This unique, award-winning commentary is the ideal resource for today's preachers, teachers, and serious students of the Bible, giving them the tools, ideas, and insights they need to communicate God's Word with the same powerful impact it had when it was first written.

Book We Live and Move and Have Our Being

Download or read book We Live and Move and Have Our Being written by Erna Suse (Suderman) Friesen and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2012-11 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book reflects my personal and cultural transitions. I highlight my great good fortune to have been born during the depression of Mennonite immigrant parents and as a consequence enjoyed the benefits of living in wonderful Canada. My life as an individual, is of necessity, in the context of the life and experiences of those who came before and the sacrifices and crucial decisions made by them. For that reason, family and general historical information is included. Life is always lived in a social context and so a description of my family and friends and their contributions and influences are essential. Family has been at the heart of my life's experience. Work contributes so much of life's meaning and purpose. A reflection on work and community involvement is part of this narrative. Seniority in years adds the dimensions of reflection and, hopefully, insight and appreciation of the spiritual legacy of my Mennonite heritage.

Book Swimming Through the Flotsam in Which We Live and Move and Have Our Being

This book was released on 2009-07-01 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A plague was erupted. The victim suffers a two-month latent period during which he is infectious but shows no symptoms. The virus is spread by aerosol, so that millions of people are soon infected and infectious, but without knowing it. At the climax of he disease, there is what a character calls a rite of distribution. At the climax the victim does what he or she most wanted or feared doing, the idea being that this kind of fear is laced with fascination. As America (like the rest of the world) sinks into chaos, as the Red Deaths kills forty percent of the population, two fiercely antagonistic groups emerge. Theres the apocalyptic religious group called Swimmers, because their charismatic leader was first seen swimming out of the Hudson River. The other group jokingly calls itself Our Gang, a very mixed group that has become immune to the plague as a by-product of an experimental treatment of herpes. What they see and do as they hike north from New York City to a farm upstate forms the substance of the novel.

Book How You Stand How You Move How You Live

Download or read book How You Stand How You Move How You Live written by Missy Vineyard and published by Da Capo Lifelong Books. This book was released on 2008-03-24 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Alexander Technique (AT) is a remarkably simple but powerful method for learning to skillfully control how your brain and body interact, allowing you to better coordinate your movements while increasing the accuracy of your mind's thoughts and perceptions. Now, in How You Stand, How You Move, How You Live, leading Alexander Technique master teacher Missy Vineyard sheds a completely fresh light on this revolutionary method and, in the process, offers path-breaking insight into the mind-body connection. Vineyard thoroughly explains and teaches the central skills of the AT through simple self-experiments, and she offers engaging stories of students in their lessons to show its effective application across a range of disciplines, including the performing arts, athletics, health, psychology, and education. How You Stand, How You Move, How You Live introduces us to a world within ourselves that we know surprisingly little about--and thereby helps us to understand why we often cannot do what we should be able to do, why we harm ourselves with chronic tension and anxiety, and why our thoughts often seem beyond our control. Vineyard is also the first AT teacher to draw on cutting-edge research in neuroscience and to synthesize those findings with AT theories and techniques. She fully illuminates the benefits to be reaped by mastery of the Alexander Technique, which include: Release from acute or chronic physical pain Enhanced mental attention and focus Reduced anxiety Improved balance and coordination Relief from tension and stress Increased ease and efficiency performing precise movement skills

The good news is that “something more” does not mean “doing more.” God is not waiting for you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are. The real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?” Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a “glory ache”—a longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. She also knows how easily working for God can get in the way of intimacy with God. And she’s discovered that we tend to make our faith journey much too hard. In A Sudden Glory, Sharon uses Scripture and story to help you erase the line between your “spiritual life” and your “daily life” as you enter the sanctuary of God’s presence even in the middle of your busy, messy day. Here you will find your eyes opened to moments of sudden glory in which the Creator assures you of His love as you live and move and have your being in Him. Here you will discover true freedom—the freedom of experiencing God in a deeper and more intimate way than ever before. Includes Bible study and discussion guide.
