Download or read book Holy Habits from the Sacred Heart written by Emily Jaminet and published by Ave Maria Press. This book was released on 2023-04-24 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus invites you to experience his love through devotion to his Sacred Heart, a powerful source of spiritual and personal healing that can also transform your relationships with family, friends, and others around you. In Holy Habits from the Sacred Heart, Emily Jaminet—executive director of the Sacred Heart Enthronement Network—identifies ten habits and virtues that come from the Sacred Heart. She also shows how you can intentionally practice these virtues in order to get closer to Jesus and strengthen the relationships that are most important to you. Having Jesus at the center of family life isn’t reserved for the pious; it’s a form of practical spirituality that is open to everyone. Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus has been a cornerstone of Jaminet’s life bolstering the faith of four generations of her family members. In this book she shares her own story as well as the real-life experiences of regular Catholics whose families have been changed for the better by the love and virtue that came from devotion to the Sacred Heart. The habits and virtues include: Encounter the King: welcome Jesus into your home with the virtue of docility; Welcome the Light: have courage to rid your heart of shame; Let Go of the Need to Control: rediscover the liberating virtue of humility; Put Jesus at the Center of Relationships: experience the release of forgiveness; and Live in the Kingdom of Peace: experience the transforming power of prudence. Each chapter includes a prayer, reflection questions, and wisdom from St. Margaret Mary Alacoque—who began the Sacred Heart devotion—and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Book Constitutional Courts Media and Public Opinion

Download or read book Constitutional Courts Media and Public Opinion written by Angioletta Sperti and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2023-11-16 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores how constitutional courts have transformed communication and overcome their reluctance to engage in direct dialogue with citizens. How has the information revolution affected the relationship of constitutional courts with the public and the media? The book looks in detail at the communication strategies of the US Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Canada, and in Europe the German Federal Constitutional Tribunal, the French Conseil Constitutionnel and the Italian Constitutional Court, arguing that when it comes to the relationship between courts and the media, different jurisdictions share many similarities. It focuses on the consequences of the communication revolution of courts both in terms of their relationship with public opinion and of the legitimacy of judicial review of legislation. Some constitutional courts have attracted criticism by engaging in proactive communication and, therefore, arguably yielding to the temptation of public support. The book argues that objections to the developing institutional communications employed by courts come from a preconceived notion of public opinion. It considers the burden the communication revolution has placed on constitutional courts to achieve a balance between transparency and seclusion, proximity and distance from public opinion. It puts forward important arguments for how this balance can be achieved. The book will interest scholars in constitutional law and public comparative law, sociologists, historians, political scientists, and scholars of media law and communication studies.

Book Beyond Identities in Modernity

Download or read book Beyond Identities in Modernity written by Yunrui Deng and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-11-08 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book argues that future generations of modernity as a whole will shape participatory modernization whether Chinese modernization or Western modernization. The public discourse is inundated with the good and the bad modern events with the acceleration of globalization. This book debates that the biggest question in the twenty-first century is not who will dominate, touting a new world order upon us, but rather that it is the orientation of modernization that haunts our daily realities. This book explores the idea that life is not about living for an identity in any society, it is about the demands for dignity and safety. It goes further to state that there is also a demand for the power of being, and these three elements are beyond identities as modernization moves forward. Interdisciplinary in nature, the book uses theories, data, and philosophy as toolboxes to align with microrealities around the globe. Witnessing modernization and modernizing identities in China and in Australia beyond day by day, the author provides a more suitable, more realistic, and possibly, more nuanced perspective. This book will be of interest to professionals, students, academics, as well as businesspeople with China experience, interested in modernization and identity, the Chinese perspective, and the new generation of Chinese.
