Book Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry for Analysis of Organic Mixtures

Download or read book Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry for Analysis of Organic Mixtures written by JD. Hogan and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Applications of Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry (FTMS) as a high performance mass spectrometer are presented. Gas chromatography (GC/FTMS analysis of an unleaded gasoline provides, in addition to electron ionization spectra for mass spectral library search algorithms, low ppm error accurate mass measurement capabilities that deliver real time elemental analysis of each eluting component. Suspended trapping pulse sequences are also examined as a means to extend dynamic range in the trapped ion cell and lower detection limits. Laser desorption/ionization (LD/I) is examined as an alternative to LC/MS for extracting structural information from non-volatile or thermally labile organic materials in mixtures. A prominent ion representative of a component molecular weight is usually generated in LDI mass spectra which facilitates mixture analysis without prior separation.

Book Hazardous Waste Measurements

Download or read book Hazardous Waste Measurements written by Milagros S. Simmons and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1990-12-19 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An essential component of all programs relating to waste management is the ability to perform measurements on-site for safe handling and disposal of hazardous wastes. This book focuses on recent developments in field testing methods and quality assurance, which are important to both RCRA and CLERLA hazardous waste management programs. The book highlights sampling strategies, field measurements, and toxicity screening of complex waste matrices.
