This book was released on 2001 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors performed a direct search for the anomalous ZZ[gamma] and Z[gamma][gamma] couplings by studying p[anti p][yields][ell][ell][gamma]+ X, ([ell]= e, [mu]) events at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. A fit to the transverse energy spectrum of the photon in the signal events, based on the data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 14.3 pb[sup[minus]1] (13.7 pb[sup[minus]1]) for the electron (muon) channel, yields the following 95% confidence level limits on the anomalous CP-conserving ZZ[gamma] couplings:[vert-bar]h[sub 30][sup Z][vert-bar]

Book excerpt: The authors present a measurement of the Z[gamma] production cross section and limits on anomalous ZZ[gamma] and Z[gamma][gamma] couplings for form-factor scales of [Lambda] = 750 and 1000 GeV. The measurement is based on 138 (152) candidate events in the ee[gamma] ([mu][mu][gamma]) final state using 320 (290) pb−1 of p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV. The 95% C.L. limits on real and imaginary parts of individual anomalous couplings are

This book was released on 2009 with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present the first observation of the Z[gamma] →[nu]{bar [nu]}[gamma] process at the Tevatron at 5.1 standard deviations significance, based on 3.6 fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p{bar p} Collider at √s = 1.96 TeV. The measured Z[gamma] cross section multiplied by the branching fraction of Z → {nu}{bar {nu}} is 32 ± 9(stat. + syst.) ± 2(lumi.) fb for the photon E{sub T} > 90 GeV. It is in agreement with the standard model prediction of 39 ± 4 fb. We set the most restrictive limits on anomalous trilinear Z[gamma][gamma] and ZZ[gamma] gauge boson couplings at a hadron collider to date, with three constraints being the world's strongest.

Book Boson Pair Production and Triple Gauge Couplings

Download or read book Boson Pair Production and Triple Gauge Couplings written by and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The D0 and CDF Collaborations measure boson pair production including W[gamma], WW, WZ, ZZ and Z[gamma] production in p[anti p] collisions at[radical]s= 1800 GeV. New results, from direct measurements, are described including W[gamma], WW, and Z[gamma] production cross sections and limits on non-Standard Model triple gauge boson couplings. The limits on anomalous WW[gamma], WWZ, Z[gamma][gamma] and ZZ[gamma] couplings are the most restrictive available. Prospects for Run II are discussed.

Book Search for ZZ and Z gamma Production in P barp Collisions at Sqrt s

Download or read book Search for ZZ and Z gamma Production in P barp Collisions at Sqrt s written by and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors present a study of [mu][mu][mu][mu], eeee, and [mu][mu]ee events using 1 fb−1 of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p{bar p} Collider at √s = 1.96 TeV. Requiring the lepton pair masses to be greater than 30 GeV, they observe one event, consistent with the expected background of 0.13 ± 0.03 events and with the predicted standard model ZZ and Z[gamma]* production of 1.71 ± 0.15 events. They set an upper limit on the ZZ and Z[gamma]* cross section of 4.4 pb at the 95% C.L. They also derive limits on anomalous neutral trilinear ZZZ and ZZ[gamma]* gauge couplings. The one-parameter 95% C.L. coupling limits with a form factor scale [Lambda] = 1.2 TeV are -0.28

Book Measurement of W gamma and Z gamma Production in Pp Collisions at Sqrt s

Download or read book Measurement of W gamma and Z gamma Production in Pp Collisions at Sqrt s written by and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A measurement of W-gamma and Z-gamma production in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV is presented. Results are based on a data sample recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 inverse picobarns. The electron and muon decay channels of the W and Z are used. The total cross sections are measured for photon transverse energy>10 GeV and spatial separation from charged leptons in the plane of pseudorapidity and azimuthal angle>0.7, and with an additional dilepton invariant mass requirement of> 50 GeV for the Z-gamma process. The following cross section times branching fraction values are found: sigma(pp to W-gamma+X) B(W to lepton neutrino) = 56.3 +/- 5.0 (stat.) +/- 5.0 (syst.) +/- 2.3 (lumi.) pb and sigma(pp to Z-gamma+X) B}(Z to lepton lepton) = 9.4 +/- 1.0 (stat.) +/- 0.6 (syst.) +/- 0.4 (lumi.) pb. These measurements are in agreement with standard model predictions. The first limits on anomalous WW gamma, ZZ gamma, and Z gamma gamma trilinear gauge couplings at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV are set.

Book Measurement of the Z gamma Production Cross Section in Pp Collisions at 8 TeV and Search for Anomalous Triple Gauge Boson Couplings

Download or read book Measurement of the Z gamma Production Cross Section in Pp Collisions at 8 TeV and Search for Anomalous Triple Gauge Boson Couplings written by and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The cross section for the production of Z[gamma] in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV is measured based on data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb−1. Events with an oppositely-charged pair of muons or electrons together with an isolated photon are selected. The differential cross section as a function of the photon transverse momentum is measured inclusively and exclusively, where the exclusive selection applies a veto on central jets. The observed cross sections are compatible with the expectations of next-to-next-to-leading-order quantum chromodynamics. Limits on anomalous triple gauge couplings of ZZ[gamma] and Z[gamma][gamma] are set that improve on previous experimental results obtained with the charged lepton decay modes of the Z boson.
