Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I believe that the stories we tell have written somewhere in the universe many times ago, and transferred to humans’ hearts by people connecting with the universe with their hearts in their own unique way. Some of them transferred these stories with musical notes, some of them used words told in a scene, and some of them with dance or texts. Since when I have connected with my heart and discover what it is, my way is to write what was born into my heart. This story I told you is a fiction about the woman within us, whom we have not taken out of the darkness, courageously confronting the darkness with an intrinsic call, finding herself and leaving her rooted and settled fears and coming to the stage of her own life. This fiction which is fed by mythological characters tells us about one of Lilith’s and Samael’s daughters called Ophelia. In some beliefs, it is believed that her mother, Lilith has been created before Eve and when she wanted to equal rights with Adam, she was fired from the paradise. On that day, to this day, she had been excluded from every mythology, became hated and had been sentenced to darkness with Samael in our collective fears. Ophelia was born in the darkness and had no any idea about lights, she just could see world’s shimmer too far away. She faces with her darkness by an intrinsic call, ascents to the light on her own life stage and courageously discovers what she is, what is unique to her. She goes on a journey with her heart, leaving everything behind, all her labels, which she does not know where she is going, by following the craving and quest in her heart from the darkness, where all the fears imposed on her mother, the woman who demands to take place in the stage of life with her own light. The journey confronts Ophelia the devils inside her, her fears, her longings that she dares and gives up, her injustices to herself, all the fearful lives she has turned down, covered, and hidden. And Ophelia continues to look into her heart, although her fears, despite her own demons. At the end, Ophelia meet with hidden things which into her deepest of heart and things what she was. And she comes out to her own life scene, taking care of herself, her soul, her heart, her abilities, all the values that make her that, and leaving all her fears, worries, judgments. Darkness is an area that we often fear, not dare to get into and stay away from. Whereas we continue to look at all the fears which we don't want to see, we discover all our treasures those we cover in darkness. I believe that a world full of happy people will be created when we bring our talents in the dark to the light and make them visible, when we let go of our fears and give ourselves the chance to be ourselves and become our true authentic self. This story is dedicated to all women who bravely took place on their own stage, excluded, harmed, killed throughout history, to Hypatia and to my own soul. The brightest, the most attractive pearls are in the deepest seas. As long as you dare to look at your heart, to find it...

Book Destruction and Creation

Download or read book Destruction and Creation written by Mary Ann Mattoon and published by Daimon. This book was released on 1999 with total page 640 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 14th Congress for Analytical Psychology was held 23-28 August 1998 in the ancient city of Florence, Italy. The theme, 'Destruction and Creation: Personal and Cultural Transformations', is especially appropriate to the Italian setting, with that nation's history of destruction, both from nature and from human activity, and its tradition -- especially in Florence -- of creative individuals and institutions. The theme is fitting, also, to the context of Jungian psychology, with its emphasis on these and other pairs of opposites, with their integral role in psychic wholeness. Acknowledging, also, that destruction is indispensable to creation, some Jungians prefer the term 'creative unconscious' to the traditional 'collective unconscious'.

Book It Never Ends

Book excerpt: It Never Ends: Mothering Middle-Aged Daughters explores the complex challenges and unexpected rewards of aging mothers in their relationships with their midlife daughters. Based on interviews with women between 65 and 85, it illuminates issues of closeness, distance, longing, and need that arise. Mothers speak openly about the ongoing effects of the past on the present, the cultural, familial, and interpersonal conflicts that remain, and the varied and often invisible ways they continue mothering. As mothers enter the last decades of their lives, their roles with their daughters often shift and change in complicated ways. Now that they are no longer central in caring for them as they once were, many experience a recalibrating of authority, autonomy, and independence. Their courage is apparent as they reflect on the mistakes they’ve made, acknowledge their regrets, and search to come to terms with their relationships as they now are.

Book excerpt: The I, Claudius author’s “lightning sharp interpretations and insights . . . are here brought to bear with equal effectiveness on the Book of Genesis” (Kirkus Reviews). This is a comprehensive look at the stories that make up the Old Testament and the Jewish religion, including the folk tales, apocryphal texts, midrashes, and other little-known documents that the Old Testament and the Torah do not include. In this exhaustive study, Robert Graves provides a fascinating account of pre-Biblical texts that have been censored, suppressed, and hidden for centuries, and which now emerge to give us a clearer view of Hebrew myth and religion than ever. Venerable classicist and historian Robert Graves recounts the ancient Hebrew stories, both obscure and familiar, with a rich sense of storytelling, culture, and spirituality. This book is sure to be riveting to students of Jewish or Judeo-Christian history, culture, and religion.

In this anthology, a vivid, provocative, and enlightening sampling of Jewish women's written responses to the Lilith myth are offered. The editors have provided the space for contemporary women to link themselves to a tradition and participate in a sacred activity, thereby infusing energy into Lilith and creating a new tradition.

Book Cain s Wife Lilith s Daughter

    Book Details:
  • Author : Walter Parks
  • Publisher : CreateSpace
  • Release : 2012-09-20
  • ISBN : 9781479359707

Download or read book Cain s Wife Lilith s Daughter written by Walter Parks and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2012-09-20 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The enduring question has been: "Where did Cain get his wife?" The churches have not given an acceptable answer to this question. Their inability to answer this question creates great doubt as to the accuracy of the Bible. More and more Christians are giving up on defending the Bible. It is vitally important for Christians to be able to answer this question because it relates to defending the fact that all humans are descendants of Adam and Eve and only their descendants can be saved. Cain's wife has been talked about in countries all over the world for hundreds of years. Skeptics of the Bible have used Cain's wife time and again to try to discredit the book of Genesis as a true historical record. This story of Cain's Wife is my initial attempt to reconcile the Bible with the undisputable scientific evidence for creative evolution. I have combined 4 sets of information: The current Bible, the old Bible before the major changes in late BC and early AD, other Ancient Literature, and the scientific facts of creation/evolution. I try to clarify why the Bible gives 2 accounts of the creation of Adam and Eve. The Bible actually describes the creation of 2 women for him. The first was Lilith (Genesis 1:27) but her name was removed from the current Bible. However her name can be seen in the older version of the Bible that existed before later day changes were made. The creation of Eve, Adam's second mate, was created from Adam's rib and is described in Genesis 2:18. Lilith has been systematically removed from the Bible, except for one reference in Isaiah 34:14. Not only was Lilith removed from the Bible, but she was demonized. The facts remain that she did exist and she did have children that are mentioned throughout the ancient literature. At lease one of her daughters was called Lilim. Lilim became Cain's wife.

Book excerpt: This first collection of Judith Plaskow's essays and short writings traces her scholarly and personal journey from her early days as a graduate student through her pioneering contributions to both feminist theology and Jewish feminism to her recent work in sexual ethics. Accessibly organized into four sections, the collection begins with several of Plaskow's foundational essays on feminist theology, including one previously unavailable in English. Section II addresses her nuanced understanding of oppression and includes her important work on anti-Judaism in Christian feminism. Section III contains a variety of short and highly readable pieces that make clear Plaskow's central role in the creation of Jewish feminism, including the essential "Beyond Egalitarianism." Finally, section IV presents her writings on the significance of sexual ethics to the larger project of transforming Judaism. Intelligently edited with the help of Rabbi Donna Berman, and including pieces never before published, The Coming of Lilith is indispensable for religious studies students, fans of Plaskow's work, and those pursuing a Jewish education.
