This book was released on 2002-04-01 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This U.S. Army field manual (FM 3-23.25) provides information about light antiarmor weapons which are used against light armored vehicles, field fortifications, or other similar targets. These weapons are issued as rounds of ammunition to individual soldiers in addition to their assigned weapons and the unit's organic antiarmor weapons. Light antiarmor weapons can withstand extreme weather and environmental conditions, including arctic, tropical, and desert. The light antiarmor weapons category includes both light antiarmor and light antitank weapons. Topics include operation and function, care and handling, destruction and decontamination procedures, operating temperatures, and much more. Types of light antiarmor weapons include the M72-series light antitank weapon (LAW) and the M136 AT4. The M72-series LAW was designed in the early 1960's for use against light tanks of that era. The M136 AT4 was designed in the late 1980's for use against the improved armor of light armored vehicles.

Book The Anti Tank Rifle

  • Author : Steven J. Zaloga
  • Publisher : Bloomsbury Publishing

  • ISBN : 1472817230

Download or read book The Anti Tank Rifle written by Steven J. Zaloga and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-01-25 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The emergence of the tank in World War I led to the development of the first infantry weapons to defend against tanks. Anti-tank rifles became commonplace in the inter-war years and in the early campaigns of World War II in Poland and the Battle of France, which saw renewed use in the form of the British .55in Boys anti-tank rifle - also used by the US Marine Corps in the Pacific. The French campaign made it clear that the day of the anti-tank rifle was ending due to the increasing thickness of tank armour. Nevertheless, anti-tank rifles continued to be used by the Soviets on the Eastern Front with two rifles, the 14.5mm PTRS and PTRD, and were still in widespread use in 1945. They served again with Korean and Chinese forces in the Korean War, and some have even appeared in Ukraine in 2014–15. Fully illustrated and drawing upon a range of sources, this is the absorbing story of the anti-tank rifle, the infantryman's anti-armour weapon during the world wars.

Book excerpt: July 2019 Printed in BLACK AND WHITE The Army's Weapon Systems Handbook was updated in July 2019, but is still titled "Weapon Systems Handbook 2018." We are printing this in black and white to keep the price low. It presents many of the acquisition programs currently fielded or in development. The U.S. Army Acquisition Corps, with its 36,000 professionals, bears a unique responsibility for the oversight and systems management of the Army's acquisition lifecycle. With responsibility for hundreds of acquisition programs, civilian and military professionals collectively oversee research, development and acquisition activities totaling more than $20 billion in Fiscal Year 2016 alone. Why buy a book you can download for free? We print this so you don't have to. We at 4th Watch Publishing are former government employees, so we know how government employees actually use the standards. When a new standard is released, somebody has to print it, punch holes and put it in a 3-ring binder. While this is not a big deal for a 5 or 10-page document, many DoD documents are over 400 pages and printing a large document is a time- consuming effort. So, a person that's paid $25 an hour is spending hours simply printing out the tools needed to do the job. That's time that could be better spent doing mission. We publish these documents so you can focus on what you are there for. It's much more cost-effective to just order the latest version from Amazon.com. Book Human Factors Evaluation of the Modified AT 4 Light Antiarmor Weapon

Download or read book Human Factors Evaluation of the Modified AT 4 Light Antiarmor Weapon written by Paul H. Ellis and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The AT-4 is a man-portable, 84-mm antiarmor weapon designed by the FFV Co. of Sweden who is represented in the United States by Honeywell Corp. This AT-4 evaluation was conducted in two parts. The first part addressed its durability, ruggedness, and compatibility with the marine rifleman's fighting load. This took place on the USAHEL (US Army Human Engineering Laboratory) cross-country and mobility/portability course. The second part examines the time it took marines to prepare the weapon for firing, and the frequency and type of errors they made during the preparation. Recommendations are made to improve the ruggedness, durability, and operational suitability of the AT-4. The AT-4 was found to be a rugged weapon that is fast and easy to prepare for firing. It was enthusiastically endorsed by the Marine test participants even though it is significantly larger and heavier than the lightweight antiarmor weapon (M72A1) with which they were familiar. Originator-supplied keywords include: Antitank weapons, Recoilless rifle, and Infantry weapons.

Book An Exploration of Integrated Ground Weapons Concepts for Armor anti armor Missions

Download or read book An Exploration of Integrated Ground Weapons Concepts for Armor anti armor Missions written by Randall Steeb and published by . This book was released on 1991-01-01 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report summarizes the results of an analytic exploration of future armored vehicle designs. It focuses on the design of light and heavy anti-armor vehicles. The authors surveyed and analyzed protection systems, weapon systems, mobility systems, sensor packages, crewspace designs, and electronics architectures, and used computer simulations to test many of their recommended configurations. They found that reduced-crew anti-armor vehicle concepts should be achievable using available technology. The designs are projected to be smaller, more maneuverable, more lethal, and less vulnerable than their currently fielded counterparts.
