Book The Beta Is His Omega

Download or read book The Beta Is His Omega written by Charity and published by Infinite Joy. This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For eighteen years, Ren Ashford believed that he was "just" a beta—a run-of-the-mill, ordinary, everyday human guy who had nothing truly remarkable about him. That was, until his fateful encounter with Rhys Holcroft—his long-time alpha crush—just before their high school graduation. In much the same way that their souls had been secretly doing for so long, just under the surface of their consciousness, it was as if their bodies had called to each other. And during this short period of mindless passion, Ren discovered what he truly was... And then his world came crashing down. Left with nothing but pain, he ran away and never looked back, and for a time at least, he thought Rhys had chosen to forget what had happened as well. But... when two people have a fated bond so strong that it could change the very core of who they thought they were, can they really forget just because they wanted to? And what if Destiny has other ideas?

Book excerpt: This book, now in its second edition, provides researchers and operators a complete description of all aspects regarding the wild ancestor of sugar beet. The possibility of crossing modern crops with the ancestors from which they are derived in order to recover some traits lost through domestication is increasingly attracting interest. The selective process implemented by the first growers led to the elimination of features not considered useful at the time. Yet some of these lost traits have now become very important. In fact, in many areas sugar beet cultivation would now be impossible without the transfer of some genetic resistances from Beta maritima, the crop’s ancestor. Moreover, the isolation of such traits is becoming increasingly critical with regard to current and future environmental and economic considerations on e.g. the use of pesticides. This second edition replaces certain photographs and has been updated to reflect the latest advances and findings. One chapter and several sections have been rewritten, and significant revisions have been made throughout the text. The new techniques provide breeders with massively improved analytical means for the safest and fastest selection procedures. Not only will these techniques allow Beta maritima to take on a far greater role as a source of favorable traits; the relative ease with which these characteristics can be transferred will also make it possible to use the germplasm of the whole genus Beta and Patellifolia, which to date has been highly complex, if not impossible, due to the difficulties of hybridization.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jake is Midnight Forest Pack's Beta, incredibly popular and handsome, always surrounded by friends, and is successful in business and as his role in pack as Beta. Yet part of his life feels incomplete. Seeing all of his friends settled down with their mates and now having children, Jake can't help but wonder where he went wrong or think if he will forever be alone. Avoidance seems to be the best tactic, and Jake pushes himself harder into work, where an unexpected encounter at a business meeting gets his heart racing and turns his life upside down. Rose, this seemingly perfect, beautiful fated mate of his, has somewhat of an unusual reaction to meeting her mate. Are you meant to be doing your best to avoid your new mate? Or be keeping secrets from him? Not to mention Rose comes from the other side of the world and plans to head home as soon as she can, with promises of keeping in touch, and working things out with time and space. Jake is just happy to finally have his mate, and willing to do all he can to have her by his side. Would Jake be willing to leave all he knows for fate? Or could it be the moon goddess made a mistake, and Jake is better off alone? Or is there a better match out there for him?

Book Seventy Years of Double Beta Decay

Download or read book Seventy Years of Double Beta Decay written by Hans Volker Klapdor-Kleingrothaus and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2010 with total page 1559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last 20 years the disciplines of particle physics, astrophysics, nuclear physics and cosmology have grown together in an unprecedented way. A brilliant example is nuclear double beta decay, an extremely rare radioactive decay mode, which is one of the most exciting and important fields of research in particle physics at present and the flagship of non-accelerator particle physics. While already discussed in the 1930s, only in the 1980s was it understood that neutrinoless double beta decay can yield information on the Majorana mass of the neutrino, which has an impact on the structure of space-time. Today, double beta decay is indispensable for solving the problem of the neutrino mass spectrum and the structure of the neutrino mass matrix. The potential of double beta decay has also been extended such that it is now one of the most promising tools for probing beyond-the-standard-model particle physics, and gives access to energy scales beyond the potential of future accelerators. This book presents the breathtaking manner in which achievements in particle physics have been made from a nuclear physics process. Consisting of a 150-page highly factual overview of the field of double beta decay and a 1200-page collection of the most important original articles, the book outlines the development of double beta decay research theoretical and experimental from its humble beginnings until its most recent achievements, with its revolutionary consequences for the theory of particle physics. It further presents an outlook on the exciting future of the field.

Book excerpt: I thought I was straight until I saw him. Now my whole life has been turned upside down. My life was perfect until him. It’s been months since I saw her brother Jake under the full moon, and I still can’t get him out of my head. He haunts my thoughts and dreams alike with his stunning perfection. That’s why I had to break up with his sister. I thought if I threw myself into my work the thoughts would go away. But now this hunky blue-eyed alpha is back, claiming I’m his mate, and I find myself unable to disobey his every order. But he’s off limits, and I have other things to focus on. There’s no way I can admit that I have feelings for him, though. Especially when my ex-girlfriend comes running back, claiming that I’m her mate too. Between that, Kael’s wedding to plan, remodeling the coffee shop, becoming the pack beta, and a thousand other things, I can feel myself cracking under the pressure. It was all supposed to be a secret until I was ready. But then Jake announces to the entire pack that he’s my mate and all hell breaks loose. TROPES: standalone, gay for you/bi awakening, alpha wolf, light D/s themes, forbidden love, forced proximity, found family, strict roles, and HEA.
