Book Dyslexie et perception cat gorielle

Download or read book Dyslexie et perception cat gorielle written by Marie Figuière and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Perception cat gorielle et perception allophonique written by Caroline Bogliotti and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book H t rog n it cognitive et rem diation des dyslexies d veloppementales written by Rachel Zoubrinetzky and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Reading Acquisition and Developmental Dyslexia

Download or read book Reading Acquisition and Developmental Dyslexia written by Liliane Sprenger-Charolles and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2013-04-15 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most studies on reading have been conducted with English-speaking subjects. It is crucial to also examine studies conducted in different languages, in order to highlight which aspects of reading acquisition and dyslexia appear to be language-specific, and which are universal. Reading Acquisition and Developmental Dyslexia sheds new light on dyslexia and its relationship with reading acquisition, presenting two unique advancements in this area. Looking at studies conducted in different languages, the prerequisites of reading acquisition are examined, and the findings from studies of skilled adult readers are presented. The manifestations of developmental dyslexia and the main contemporary explanations for it are outlined, providing an in-depth, well researched discussion of the topic. The authors conclude by offering a new framework which could explain both reading acquisition and developmental dyslexia. A fascinating book offering a unique insight into the topic of dyslexia, it will be of great interest to students and lecturers in cognitive psychology, educational psychology, and psycholinguistics, as well as those with a more everyday involvement with the disorder such as speech and language therapists.

Download or read book Resonance written by Hartmut Rosa and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2019-07-26 with total page 589 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The pace of modern life is undoubtedly speeding up, yet this acceleration does not seem to have made us any happier or more content. If acceleration is the problem, then the solution, argues Hartmut Rosa in this major new work, lies in “resonance.” The quality of a human life cannot be measured simply in terms of resources, options, and moments of happiness; instead, we must consider our relationship to, or resonance with, the world. Applying his theory of resonance to many domains of human activity, Rosa describes the full spectrum of ways in which we establish our relationship to the world, from the act of breathing to the adoption of culturally distinct worldviews. He then turns to the realms of concrete experience and action – family and politics, work and sports, religion and art – in which we as late modern subjects seek out resonance. This task is proving ever more difficult as modernity’s logic of escalation is both cause and consequence of a distorted relationship to the world, at individual and collective levels. As Rosa shows, all the great crises of modern society – the environmental crisis, the crisis of democracy, the psychological crisis – can also be understood and analyzed in terms of resonance and our broken relationship to the world around us. Building on his now classic work on acceleration, Rosa’s new book is a major new contribution to the theory of modernity, showing how our problematic relation to the world is at the crux of some of the most pressing issues we face today. This bold renewal of critical theory for our times will be of great interest to students and scholars across the social sciences and humanities.

Book Beyond the Impasse

Download or read book Beyond the Impasse written by Frans J Schuurman and published by Zed Books. This book was released on 1993 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Development theory in the past decade has met with increasingly heavy criticism. Dependency theories, as well as modes of production and world-system approaches, have come to be considered as internally inconsistent and inadequate for explaining the increasing diversity and unevenness of the Third World. This book confronts the theoretical impasse which many feel has been reached. Development scholars from various disciplines review recent changes in research priorities, procedures and orientations, and detect the emergence of new and diverse lines of theoretical development in the field. In particular, they deal with the important meta-theoretical, political, cultural and ethical questions that have come to the fore.

Book excerpt: This collective project by Erik Bordeleau, Toni Pape, Ronald Rose-Antoinette and Adam Szymanski is not simply 'about' Apichatpong Weerasethakul, though it does engage his work in detail. It is a book that deeply questions what else might be at stake in setting up the conditions for collaboration across two genres - cinema and writing.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Perfect Servant reevaluates the place of eunuchs in Byzantium. Kathryn Ringrose uses the modern concept of gender as a social construct to identify eunuchs as a distinct gender and to illustrate how gender was defined in the Byzantine world. At the same time she explores the changing role of the eunuch in Byzantium from 600 to 1100. Accepted for generations as a legitimate and functional part of Byzantine civilization, eunuchs were prominent in both the imperial court and the church. They were distinctive in physical appearance, dress, and manner and were considered uniquely suited for important roles in Byzantine life. Transcending conventional notions of male and female, eunuchs lived outside of normal patterns of procreation and inheritance and were assigned a unique capacity for mediating across social and spiritual boundaries. This allowed them to perform tasks from which prominent men and women were constrained, making them, in essence, perfect servants. Written with precision and meticulously researched, The Perfect Servant will immediately take its place as a major study on Byzantium and the history of gender.

Book Imaginative Communities

Download or read book Imaginative Communities written by Robert Govers and published by Reputo Press. This book was released on 2018-09-10 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Americans are loud. Amsterdam equals sex, drugs, and rock & roll. Mexicans are lazy and Germans are boring, but punctual. Paris is romantic, Wuhan infectious, Ukrainians heroic, and New Zealand untouched. This is the way people around the world think about cities, regions and countries and the communities that live there; through cliches and stereotypes. It can be frustrating and hindering trade, diplomacy, investment, tourism, or talent attraction. Many believe that such image problems can be resolved with advertising campaigns, but the classic tourism promotion model is broken and insufficient. This book explains what works and what doesn’t when it comes to improving the reputation of cities, regions, and countries. It does so without the use of jargon and with reference to numerous case-studies. The book primarily aims to inspire readers and offer them a broad overview of an issue in modern society that is of interest and relevance to all of us: the reputation of our communities.

Download or read book The Study of Dyslexia written by Martin Turner and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-01-16 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In long-ago 1999, the Dyslexia Institute and Plenum Press conceived a plan for two books which would gather the best of current knowledge and practice in dyslexia studies. This would benefit those—but not only those—many individuals who train with us, acquiring a postgraduate certificate and diploma with our higher education partner, the University of York. Since then, the century changed, the hinge of history creaked and Plenum was taken over by Kluwer Academic Publishers, but the first of the pair, Dyslexia in Practice, emerged quickly and on schedule (Townend and Turner, 2000). Written by staff and close associates of the Institute, its chapters were produced under close scrutiny and with the expedition of a command economy. To our delight, the book has seen a success which went beyond the dreams of its editors: it has been adopted by other courses similar to our own and is widely referred to. The same was never likely to be true of The Study of Dyslexia, which was envisaged as a theoretical companion volume written by authors and researchers of international repute. Nearly five years after the idea first took shape, this second volume now arrives to complete the enterprise, but it has been a very different project.
