Book excerpt: Now published by Plural! German for Singers: A Textbook of Diction and Phonetics, Third Edition maintains the clear and comprehensive approach that has made it the standard for German lyric diction instruction for more than 40 years. German language professor William Odom, professor and professional singer Benno Schollum, and professor and vocal coach Christina Balsam Curren have crafted a systematic introduction infused with their decades of experience teaching and singing in German. This classic text has been improved and updated to reflect current International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) usage, with new exercises, practical translations of all excerpts and song texts, and expanded audio resources on the PluralPlus companion website. Book Exegetical Dictionary of the New Testament Vol 1

Download or read book Exegetical Dictionary of the New Testament Vol 1 written by horst Balz and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2004-01-14 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The English translation of the three-volume Exegetisches Wrterbuch zum Neuen Testament, this monumental work by an ecumenical group of scholars is first of all a complete English dictionary of New Testament Greek. Going beyond that, however EDNT also serves as a guide to the usage of every New Testament word in its various contexts, and it makes a significant contribution to New Testament exegesis and theology. EDNT's thorough, lengthy discussions of more significant words and its grouping of words related by root and meaning (with alphabetical cross-references) distinguish it from simpler Greek-English lexicons. Advancing the discussion of the Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament, EDNT summarizes more recent treatments of numerous questions in New Testament study and takes into consideration newer viewpoints of linguistics.

Book To Sir Phillip With Love

Download or read book To Sir Phillip With Love written by Julia Quinn and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2009-10-13 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sir Phillip knew that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster, and so he'd proposed, figuring that she'd be homely and unassuming, and more than a little desperate for an offer of marriage. Except . . . she wasn't. The beautiful woman on his doorstep was anything but quiet, and when she stopped talking long enough to close her mouth, all he wanted to do was kiss her . . . and more. Did he think she was mad? Eloise Bridgerton couldn't marry a man she had never met! But then she started thinking . . . and wondering . . . and before she knew it, she was in a hired carriage in the middle of the night, on her way to meet the man she hoped might be her perfect match. Except . . . he wasn't. Her perfect husband wouldn't be so moody and ill-mannered, and while Phillip was certainly handsome, he was a large brute of a man, rough and rugged, and totally unlike the London gentlemen vying for her hand. But when he smiled . . . and when he kissed her . . . the rest of the world simply fell away, and she couldn't help but wonder . . . could this imperfect man be perfect for her?

Book Inflammatory Pancreatic Diseases

Download or read book Inflammatory Pancreatic Diseases written by Joachim Mössner and published by Karger Medical and Scientific Publishers. This book was released on 2005 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Annotation. This publication presents new and fascinating insights especially into the pathogenesis of both acute and chronic pancreatitis. It starts with a literature review and presentation of the authors¿ own data on laboratory markers of acute pancreatitis such as trypsinogen, serum amyloid A and procalcitonin, paying special attention to their clinical usefulness and test performance for stratifying severity and monitoring disease progression. Also discussed is the still difficult differential diagnosis between pancreatic cancer and chronic pancreatitis, especially the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in preexisting chronic pancreatitis: particularly, the high specificity of molecular alterations in pancreatic cancer as found in some pilot studies has the potential of a strong complementary marker of malignancy in patients with a pancreatic mass of uncertain origin. Further topics discussed are acute-phase reactions during early pancreatic cellular injury, tropic pancreatitis, the pathogenesis of pain in chronic pancreatitis and the pathomechanisms of pancreatic fibrogenesis and the role of pancreatic stellate cells in the fibrotic process. Last but not least, endoscopic therapies in chronic pancreatitis are looked into.
