Tarea inagotable e irreductible como tal, pues siempre persiste la extrañeza de estos términos que al entrecruzarlos con los propios a poco andar se advierte que se soportan de un modo inseguro e incómodo. En efecto, es sabido que la libertad no constituye un concepto propio del psicoanálisis y se le reconoce su origen filosófico, incluso ético-filosófico; así como la responsabilidad es fácilmente referible al campo del derecho, incluso etimológicamente: proviene del latín responsum, que es una forma de ser considerado sujeto de una deuda u obligación. Que estos términos foráneos, extranjeros hayan ingresado en los debates actuales que caracterizan al psicoanálisis del siglo XXI es debido, sin dudas, a la intervención de Lacan. Sus elaboraciones al respecto siguen vigentes y abiertas a la lectura crítica, al comentario vivo, a una reflexión incesante para no convertirlas en estribillos fijos e inamovibles. El objetivo de este libro es reunirlas, a pesar de su dispersión sin ton ni son, articularlas y hacerlas dialogar, sin soslayar sus variaciones, sus matices, sus paradojas. De modo que, tomadas en su conjunto, sea factible delinear un modo de ponerse en juego la cuestión de la libertad y la responsabilidad en psicoanálisis. Freud hypothesizes that Moses was not Hebrew, but actually born into Ancient Egyptian nobility and was probably a follower of Akhenaten, an ancient Egyptian monotheist. Freud contradicts the biblical story of Moses with his own retelling of events, claiming that Moses only led his close followers into freedom during an unstable period in Egyptian history after Akhenaten (ca. 1350 BCE) and that they subsequently killed Moses in rebellion and later combined with another monotheistic tribe in Midian based on a volcanic God, Jahweh. Freud explains that years after the murder of Moses, the rebels regretted their action, thus forming the concept of the Messiah as a hope for the return of Moses as the Saviour of the Israelites. Freud said that the guilt from the murder of Moses is inherited through the generations; this guilt then drives the Jews to religion to make them feel better.
