Book Unmistakable

Download or read book Unmistakable written by Srinivas Rao and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2016 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stop trying to beat everyone else. True success is playing by your own rules, creating work that no one can replicate. Don't be the best, be the only. You're on the conventional path, checking off accomplishments. You might be doing okay by normal standards, but you still feel restless, bored, and limited. Srinivas Rao gets it. As a new business school graduate, Srinivas's dreams were crushed by a soulless job that demanded only conformity. Sick of struggling to keep his head above water, Srinivas quit his job and took to the waves, pursuing his dream of learning to surf. He also found the freedom to chart his own course. Interviewing more than five hundred creative people on his Unmistakable Creative podcast was the ultimate education. He heard how guests including Seth Godin, Elle Luna, Tim Ferriss, Simon Sinek, and Danielle LaPorte blazed their own trails. Srinivas blends his own story with theirs to tell you: You can find that courage too. Don't be just one among many--be the only. Be unmistakable. Trying to be the best will chain you to others' definition of success. Unmistakable work, on the other hand, could only have been created by one person, so competition is irrelevant. Like Banksy's art or Tim Burton's films, unmistakable work needs no signature and has no precedent. Whether you're a business owner, an artist, or just someone who wants to leave your mark on the world, Unmistakable will inspire you to create your own path and define your own success.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You’re a writer with 1,001 questions about how to fix your manuscript and you want answers. It’s hard to see your whole story in enough detail to find all the problems, much less craft the best solutions. After months of effort, you’re deep inside the characters and plot so you need a tool that’s objective—something to magnify and explain each scene and show you how they all connect. The best way to answer the questions that are plaguing you is one you’ve probably never considered—a spreadsheet. In this beginner’s guide, Story Grid Certified Editor Kimberly Kessler shows you how to turn a spreadsheet into a precision editing tool. Using the Story Grid approach, the spreadsheet becomes a microscope through which you can see scenes, sequences, and your entire story in high resolution. The Story Grid spreadsheet will save you time by quickly identifying the sources and locations of key problems. What you meant to say won’t cloud your ability to see what’s really on the page. With Kessler’s expert guidance, you’ll add the Story Grid spreadsheet to your writer’s toolkit, you’ll save your current manuscript, and improve all the stories that follow. “You have nothing to fear,” says Kessler, “simply new connections to make.”

Book excerpt: A truly contemporary take on how to be a witch, Rebel Witch is an antidote to the cookie-cutter witchcraft agenda that gives a new perspective on the craft, asking each reader to create a powerful, personalized practice that taps into the current mood of female empowerment and spiritual rebellion. Rebel Witch reminds witches of the wondrous opportunity to jump into experimentation and invent something wild and individual, a practice shaped by their individual personality and life journey, rather than allowing themselves to be spoon-fed. It challenges witches to design a nurturing practice that is truly theirs. There's information about all the elements of the craft, from energy raising, sacred space creation and receiving signs to casting spells, holding rituals, scrying, potions and much more … crucially, in each case the topic is discussed from an exciting contemporary perspective. So, when Kelly-Ann talks about sacred texts, she stresses that you can choose the texts that resonate with you – so why not Alice in Wonderland or Narnia? Maybe you want to move away from the traditional Wheel of the Year and create your own divisions? Instead of honouring a traditional deity, why not construct your own, choosing elements from rock stars, movie icons or fictional heroes? Or embody magical signs in your clothing and jewellery? Creativity and experimentation are encouraged, with tips to help the reader to be inventive. A curious reader with a desire to create an inspired, deeply personal path and free themselves from conformity will finish the book ready to take action and make magick happen!

Book 365 Days to Level up Purpose and Passion

Download or read book 365 Days to Level up Purpose and Passion written by Michael Assibey-Bonsu and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-05-11 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a short description by the author, Michael Assibey-Bonsu, on how living the 365 principles for 365 days, found in this book, propelled him profoundly forward in life. The principles outlined in this book have completely shifted the way I see and view life on a day-to-day basis. Take, for example, the three deepest internalized principles of self-awareness, complete expression, and three for eight and ten for thirty. At the beginning of 2017, when I began to internally understand and practice these, they allowed me to uncover and harness my passion, which had always been loosely tied to business and people. From becoming self-aware and understanding my passions, I began to completely express myself as who I am, nothing more and nothing less, which uncovered access to numerous untapped gifts and strengths I had no idea existed within me. This is how my startup companies of Nector and Digital Proof came into being and also how my latest project, Social Proof, is unfolding. These have all been created as a result of me following my passions, from self-awareness to completely expressing myself, together with living the 365 principles expressed in this book. From that point forward, the world and my purpose therein became clear, and the companies and teams I was able to build evolved effortlessly, as if an unseen yet guiding hand was directing me. I realized how everything had converged and, as a result, was able to continue adding more ideas and further innovation, which led to me understanding that I had tapped into my purpose, creating a bright and futuristic feeling. Thereafter, I followed the principle of three for eight and ten for thirty, which is the view that the future is bright and my purpose is even brighter. So the understanding that it will take a while to fully come to fruition leads to the realization and acceptance of the number of years I will have to keep moving toward my goals so as to reach who I was created to be. With these principles, the way is now clear, and I wake every day with a sense of fulfillment, regardless of the understanding of how long it may take. I now know what the end feels and looks like, which ultimately balances my passion and my purpose. This is such a powerful state of mind, and the greatest gift of wisdom that has been given to me by God the creator thus far. By positioning myself for greatness and following these 365 drops of wisdom, I wake up every day satisfied, before Ive even reached my best self. These principles are not mine alone, but they are ours to share with all. I truly hope that my journey in following these 365 truths is emulated by many others and that they also reap the benefits and future they richly deserve. The present is bright, the past is forgotten, and the future is clear.

Book excerpt: The folk artists of Italy have created some of the most beautiful crafts in the world: laces, mosaics, leatherwork, quilting, and wood inlay are among the most well-known. In this vintage book, originally published in 1977, Janet and Alex D’Amato explore these traditional Italian crafts as well as others not so well known, such as tambour (a kind of crocheting worked directly into a fabric), straw marquetry (a mosaic-like craft done with tiny pieces of straw), wood carving and quillwork. They explain each craft as it was originally practiced, then adapt it to make contemporary craft pieces. The projects include an embroidered full length apron, a bobbin lace wall hanging, a straw marquetry box, jewelry, and many more. Also included are instructions for a Presepio (a traditional Italian manger scene) and a Pinocchio marionette.
