This letter is an additional note to a longer letter that he had just mailed. Now Lincoln states "if there was no question of title involved I would give $100 for a quit claim deed ..." Ellsworth and adds "the story ... is absolutely unfounded in fact." There is a note typed with a different typewriter on [page 4] which notes "Presented to J.C.W. Coppess by Harry Baker, 5-14-37."
