Porter writes about her grief over the 21 April death of William C.A. Lawrence at age 27. After Sallie Porter's death, Nannie took charge of her baby Will. She drinks "Bedford water" for her health which George Lyon (her future husband) sent her from the Furnace. She shares news of activities with friends and family, and discusses her beliefs about love and marriage ("A marriage without the whole heart's love would kill me"). Also contains a photocopy of Anna Baker's letter to [Enoch Banks] 7 July mentioning Anna Porter.
