Book Sinner s Creed

Download or read book Sinner s Creed written by Scott Stapp and published by Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.. This book was released on 2012-10-02 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sinner’s Creed is the uncensored memoir of Scott Stapp, Grammy Award–winning leader of the multiplatinum rock band CREED. During CREED’s decade of dominance and in the years following the band’s breakup, Scott struggled with drugs and alcohol, which led not only to a divorce, but also to a much-publicized suicide attempt in 2006. Now clean, sober, and in the midst of a highly successful solo career, Scott has finally come full circle—a turnaround he credits to his renewed faith in God. In Sinner's Creed, Scott shares his story for the first time—from his fundamentalist upbringing, the rise and fall of CREED, and his ongoing battle with addiction, the rediscovery of his faith, and the launch of his solo career. The result is a gripping memoir that is proof positive that God is always present in our lives, despite the colossal mess we sometimes make of them.

Book excerpt: Qi Gong comes alive for children ages 2 to 9 through this original song and book with accompanying video. Basic moves are combined with catchy lyrics for easy learning in Let the Rain Fall Down. Children as young as two years old and even adults love this song. A moving meditation, Qi Gong emphasizes deep breathing with coordinated, repetitive motions. The exercises are reflective of nature, like a tree rooted and reaching for the sun, a bird flying high in the sky and a warm, gentle rain. Standing with enough room to spread their arms, children benefit physically, emotionally and mentally with this powerful tool. A state of relaxed focus often takes only a few minutes to achieve. The results are enhanced when practiced outside in Nature. Colorful illustrations in this 32-page picture book demonstrate the simple movements and you can follow along with a 3-minute video at www.books.donnahenderson.net. Perfect for groups or individuals, Let the Rain Fall Down sets the tone for the day, creates an effective break anytime and may help soothe and calm before bedtime. Teachers and group leaders may use this short exercise to help create cooperative engagement among the children. Qi Gong, an ancient Chinese art form, has been used for thousands of years to promote well-being. Qi (pronounced chee) means energy, "gong" refers to practice. So Qi Gong is a practice used to build up life energy. It promotes calm vitality, which can be helpful at any age.

Book Wildflower

Download or read book Wildflower written by April R. Schreiber and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-01-06 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A blind date introduces April to a man she nicknames Jimmer and her life is changed forever. He exposes her to the finer things in life, but more importantly, he teaches her what true love is. She finds herself telling him things she never told anyone before and cannot understand why he loves her when he could have someone not as damaged as she. She is an addict when they meet, had been raped, and had a childhood filled with severe physical and mental abuse. The more she tells him, the more deeply he falls in love with her. Coming from a small town where hunting and guns are common place, she thinks nothing of it when she learns he carries a .38 under his suit coat to work. After living on a rough part of a reservation where her sister handed her a rifle because she though someone was coming to steal their gas, she assumes his guns are to protect the large amounts of cash he has both in his car trunk and apartment. She is unfamiliar with city life and assumes this is normal. Because she trusts him so completely, she is not suspicious of his job when he takes spur of the moment out-of-state business trips that can last for an undetermined amount of time. When he tells her something 'fell off a truck' he laughs as she wonders why it didn't break. Wildflower is true the story of their time spent together, events that happened, and murder. It is a story every woman of every age can relate to. It is the author's hope that you enjoy this glimpse of the not-so-average life one woman was lucky enough to survive. May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead!

Book excerpt: What do we think of when we hear the word family? Perhaps brothers and sisters, mother, father, cousins are brought to mind. In the strictest sense, of course these are all family members. But the bond goes much deeper than that. Families share a common ancestry or beginning which is not limited to people. Man has always had a strong connection with nature. It is the first thing we think of when we want to get away from lifes trials. But, perhaps it is not that we want to get away so much as it is our need to find familiarity, likeness, comfort and acceptance. In nature we find all these things and more: beauty, strength and power, giving and yes, the blemished as wellall things we see in each other. Its like looking into a mirror. In KindredA Family Portrait, Monica Smith poignantly makes the connection between man and nature, completing the circle of our ancestry. You will never again see a tree as just a tree.
