Download or read book LET GOD SPEAK HIS WORD IS AUTHORITY written by David A Swincer and published by David Swincer. This book was released on 2015-02-23 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the lands of the East, when a host accepts a man to be his guest he thereby agrees at whatever the cost to defend his guest from all possible enemies during the time of his entertainment ... The host took a piece of roast mutton and handed it to the missionary, saying as he did so, "Now do you know what I have done?" In answering his own question he went on to say: "By that act I have pledged you every drop of my blood, that while you are in my territory no evil shall come to you. For that space of time we are brothers." The Psalmist felt utterly secure, though he had enemies close by him, when he knew that God was his host. "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies". (Wight 1953, 78). This simple example helps to pinpoint the need for careful biblical exegesis. If we want to LET GOD SPEAK through His Word, then we must be able to understand the meaning of that word to the culture to which it was written. But we need to briefly lay a foundation for that study, about defining the actual Bible—the Word of God. What is the actual content of the Bible? Which books are to be included and why? Is it inspired? How are we to then interpret this composite book (of 66 books)? How are we to then discover what this ancient writing has to say to us today in our time and culture? The climax of these foundational issues is the careful exegesis of the bible, with worked examples of several passages to demonstrate a methodology that can be applied to any verse or passage of the bible. This is the basis for preaching, teaching and personal application.
Download or read book Love Worth Finding Pack Of 25 written by Adrian Rogers and published by . This book was released on 1998-11-23 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Psychologists have long known that every person has two great longings and inward needs. The first is to be loved, and the second is to love. But when pressures and heartaches come into our lives, many give up any hope of ever finding love. The tragedy is that we often look in the wrong places to fill this deep, deep need and longing. Some substitute lust for love. Others pursue material things or superficial relationships-all in the futile attempt to fill a God-shaped vacuum in the human heart. But there is good news! There is a love worth finding and a love worth sharing. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). On the cross of Christ, God's mighty love was revealed and offered unconditionally to all who would be saved. Do you long to know this mighty love? Then I need to ask you the most important question you'll ever be asked: Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God loves you, that your sins are forgiven, and that you are saved and on your way to heaven? The great news is, you can know! Let me share with you how to discover the greatest love worth finding. Admit Your Sin. First, you must admit that you are a sinner. The Bible says, "There is none righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10). "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). It is our sin that separates us from God and from fulfilling our deepest needs and longings. Sin is an offense against God that carries a serious penalty. According to Romans 6:23, "The wages of sin is death [eternal separation from the love and mercy of God]." Abandon Your Efforts. Second, you must abandon any efforts to save yourself. If we could save ourselves, Jesus' death would have been unnecessary! Even "getting religion" cannot get you to heaven. The Bible says it is "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His [God's] mercy He saved us" (Titus 3:5). Salvation is by God's grace, "not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Acknowledge Christ's Payment. What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). He died on the cross for you, and then rose from the dead to prove that His payment was acceptable to God. But you must acknowledge and believe this fact. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31). Accept Christ as Your Savior. Salvation is God's gift to you. "The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). When someone offers you a priceless gift, the wisest thing you can do is accept it! This very moment, you can receive Christ's gift of salvation by sincerely praying this simple prayer from your heart: Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that You love me and want to save me. Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe God raised You from the dead. I now turn from my sin and, by faith, receive You as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart, forgive my sins, and save me, Lord Jesus. In Your name I pray. Amen. Friend, if you have not yet made a decision for Christ, I urge you to receive Him today. You'll be eternally glad to know the love worth finding!

Download or read book Biblical Creation Truth written by Joaozinho Da S. F. a. Martins and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2012-03 with total page 490 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "BIBLICAL CREATION TRUTH" differs from the traditional and recent controversial theories of creationism. Contrary to the prevailing confusing theories of creation, the "heavens and earth" of Genesis 1:1 were perfect (Deuteronomy 32:4) and beautiful (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Genesis 1:1, in just one short blessed sentence, covers within its grasp the 'totality of a perfect creation'. This fact is corroborated by Proverbs 8:22-31 narrating the primeval creation. In no way, Proverbs 8:27-31 are 'parallel' with Genesis1:3-31 but actually complement Genesis 1:1 with additional details. Next, Proverbs 8:27- 31 does not mention chaos on the primeval earth thereby proving that the chaos of Genesis 1:2 was of later occurrence. Moreover, Proverbs 8:26c -31 prove that the original earth was teemed with life, including pre-adamic 'sons of men' in whom Wisdom delighted. This could not be the case after Adam's fall. Undoubtedly, a faulty interpretation of Genesis 1:1-31 and Exodus 20:11 lies behind the 'battle for a true view of the beginning'. If these Scriptures, along with Proverbs 8:22-31, were objectively interpreted, taking into account Genesis 2:4a relating to beginnings, it would be clear that there were two beginnings of God's creative works; one, in the eternity past (2 Peter 3:5) and the other, in the realm of time (2 Peter 3:7), leaving no room for any debate relating to the origins or the age of the universe. It's time we admit our failure to consider all the Scriptures relating to creation and interpret the biblical creation accounts appropriately! And next, with faith, come to grips with the actual revealed Biblical Creation Truth, for 'His Name's sake'; even as we look forward to the creation of new heavens and earth in the eternity future (2 Peter 3:13)!
