Book Let a Sorrowful Heart Sing

Download or read book Let a Sorrowful Heart Sing written by Cheryl L. Boone and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2012-02 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Somewhere in this little book is a hidden message meant for someone in need at this very moment. Somehow this message will find its way into the hands of that one person that the Lord wants to encourage and bless! It seems that in this life everyone has their trials, tribulations and life lessons that the Lord sets before you. If you want to be used of the Lord, then you must listen, learn and take a step of faith. For Cheryl, it seemed that every experience in her life somehow worked together to bring her to this place. Looking back, she could see that the Lord orchestrated every experience to work for her good. Along the way, through difficult times and exciting times, she had questions that weighed heavy with emotion. While sitting at a kitchen counter one day during one of these times, pen and paper in hand, she started writing to the Lord. By the time she came to the end she had an answer. Though the writings were personal it became evident that the Lord used these writings to help others who could relate to the circumstance. It was through these writings that lessons have been learned. Though encouraged by her daughter and family to share these writings there was always something that held her back. Then just at that perfect moment a friend told her how one of her poems had helped someone who was hurting. Someway the Lord will use this book to Let a Sorrowful Heart Sing!

Book excerpt: There are many types of love songs: songs of those who want to be in love, other songs of those who are in love, while still others that are about those who have fallen out of love or lost their love and have a broken heart. But the greatest of all love songs are those to God: those that rejoice constantly in his presence and his unconditional acceptance of us as we are. The sonnets in this book are devotionals to God and his intimate relationship with us throughout our lives. They are love songs that sing of his undying love for us. They are songs that are sung with all our heart.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A tale of love and conquest, "full of page-turning situations...worthy of a García Lorca drama" (San Francisco Chronicle). A historical novel about the conquistador Cortés and the Aztec princess Malintzín, by a "stunning" (New York Times Book Review) writer. Night of Sorrows plunges readers into the conflicting New Worlds of the mysterious Malintzín, born as an Aztec princess and sold as a slave, and her dashing and ruthless lover-master, conquistador Hernán Cortés. As they march through the Empire of the Sun to the shimmering island metropolis, Tenochtítlan (Mexico City), Cortés advances his cause by winning friends through Machiavellian conniving and confronting enemies in merciless battle. We witness the volatile dynamics and multifarious intrigues of the commander and his temperamental compadres, and weather the heartbreaking inner odyssey of Malintzín. Set at the twilight of the Aztec empire—April 1519 through the night of sorrows, la noche triste, June 30, 1520—Night of Sorrows explores the nature of slavery and imperialism, prostitution, friendship, feminine identity, and the macho ideal. Combining historical and fictional characters, Frances Sherwood's new novel is the story of a spectacular clash of traditions, imbued with her characteristic humor and bringing to life the colors, smells, and sounds of Mexico. Reading group guide included.
