En Afrique, ce sont surtout les medecins traditionalistes qui utilisent les plantes en guise de traitement. Ils le faisaient autrefois surtout pour se rendre utiles et parfois meme benevolement. Mais, de nos jours, ce West plus le cas. L'esprit mercantile a pris le pas sur la volonte de l'homme de rendre utile. C'est ainsi que leurs services sont cherement taxes. Leurs prix sont fonction de la duree du traitement, de la complication de la maladie et de la difficulte qu'ils eprouvent a retrouver les plantes necessaires.
