Or et même si les mots se prêtent ici au jeu sémantique, les entreprises privées sont stricto sensu des organisations non gouvernementales et les ONG sont évidemment des entreprises, dans leur dimension de projet soumis à contraintes. Dès lors, parmi les questions qui leur sont posées, nombreuses sont celles qui s'adressent à leur gestion : Comment " gagnent-elles " leur argent et qu'en font-elles ? Quelle est la légitimité et l'efficacité de leur action de solidarité ? Qui et comment emploient-elles ? Comment s'adaptent-elles à leur environnement ? En combinant un savoir fondamental, relatif aux organisations humaines, et une connaissance spécifique des ONG, cet ouvrage entend contribuer aux réponses faites à ces questions et participer, plus largement, à la compréhension du " fait ONG ".
