Book Gender and Well Being

Download or read book Gender and Well Being written by Mr John Eriksen and published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 2013-02-28 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Provisioning for basic human needs is done in three main kind of institutions: the familial household; the commercial enterprise selling goods and services; the institutions of the Welfare State that provide education, medical care and other goods and personal services to all or to some specific groups of citizens in need. The purpose of this book is to study the interplay of these institutions and their impact on well-being, and to analyze key policies and measures that have been implemented in European countries. Institutions determine labour demand (men and women are hired by the institutions of the Welfare State or by market providers of care), the possibilities of consumption (wages earned can be used to buy goods and services only if such goods and services are provided by the market) and allocate people's time, in particular women's time, between paid work and unpaid domestic production and provision of care, shaping both the gender relations and time use of people of both sexes. The proper balance of these institutions is a prerequisite of well-being both of the care givers and of the care receivers, and also for satisfactory gender relations.

Download or read book Identification conom trique des d terminants de la satisfaction dans l emploi written by Effrosyni Vasileiou and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 696 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Reinventing Work in Europe

Download or read book Reinventing Work in Europe written by Dominique Méda and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-12-19 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book looks at the history of work and the meanings that are attached to it over time. Taking as its basis a number of international surveys and interviews conducted in Europe, the authors consider the significance of work for Europeans today. Over the years the meaning of work has changed. It has become more highly diversified, and it is today invested with high expectations that conflict with organisational developments and the changing nature of the labour market. The authors use a generational perspective to explore whether it is possible to reconcile the contemporary “ethos” of work, especially with regards to women and young people, with organisations that are increasingly under pressure to be profitable and productive. Reinventing Work in Europe will be of interest to scholars and students in the areas of sociology of work, employment and organizations, labour studies, digital economy, and political economy.

Book La satisfaction au travail

Download or read book La satisfaction au travail written by Davy Castel and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book establishes a status quaestionis for the historiography of wartime and postwar preservation, and sets these particular developments in preservation history in the context of the general evolution of architecture and urbanism. The authors investigate the specific role of conservationists and heritage institutions and administrations in the overall reconstruction and examine the part played by architects and planners in heritage preservation.
