Si bien toda comunicación, en su esencia, es persuasiva, en los presentes trabajos se destaca esta seña de identidad especializada en el mundo de las Relaciones Públicas, la publicidad y lo audiovisual en su conjunto. Las aportaciones son variadas, destacando en todas ellas el carácter aglutinativo de la función social de la comunicación, y en muchas de ellas, el vasto campo de la creación de eventos como punto de atracción para la nueva mercadotecnia. Este repaso por las distintas fórmulas de la comunicación, verdadera finalidad del libro, también aporta elementos para un nuevo análisis del fenómeno cinematográfico entendido como global al basarse en un lenguaje que muda en formas narrativas, pero no en su sustancia primordial: la imagen y el sonido. Por ello, como coordinador del presente texto, quisiera destacar no una contribución concreta, sino el tono general de las incluidas ya que se han abierto nuevos caminos para futuras investigaciones, en especial las que muestran una aplicación muy directa en el mundo mercantil y de la enseñanza. Así, hallamos trabajos que analizan y proponen mejoras en el campo de la enseñanza de lenguas a través de la publicidad, e incluso que modelizan el futuro de la mercadotecnia a partir de la imagen (activo intangible de las empresas que adquiere un valor paulatinamente mayor) generada en sus eventos. Incluso se aportan modelos funcionales en los casos de las OO.NN.GG. que sistemáticamente basan su visibilidad en este tipo de acciones de Relaciones Públicas. Writing across Cultures is his comprehensive analysis of the varied sources of Latin American literature. Originally published in 1982, the book links Rama's work on Spanish American modernism with his arguments about the innovative nature of regionalist literature, and it foregrounds his thinking about the close relationship between literary movements, such as modernism or regionalism, and global trends in social and economic development. In Writing across Cultures, Rama extends the Cuban anthropologist Fernando Ortiz's theory of transculturation far beyond Cuba, bringing it to bear on regional cultures across Latin America, where new cultural arrangements have been forming among indigenous, African, and European societies for the better part of five centuries. Rama applies this concept to the work of the Peruvian novelist, poet, and anthropologist José María Arguedas, whose writing drew on both Spanish and Quechua, Peru's two major languages and, by extension, cultures. Rama considered Arguedas's novel Los ríos profundos (Deep Rivers) to be the most accomplished example of narrative transculturation in Latin America. He refused to formulate an aesthetic, declaring that one can no more define the "beautiful" than determine "what sort of coffee tastes good". And yet many of the writers of our time have understood, as academic theorists generally have not, that Wittgenstein is "their" philosopher. How do we resolve this paradox? Marjorie Perloff, our foremost critic of twentieth-century poetry, argues that Wittgenstein has provided writers with a radical new aesthetic, a key to recognizing the inescapable strangeness of ordinary language. Wittgenstein's ladder is an apt figure for this radical aesthetic, and not just in its ordinariness as an object. The movement "up" this ladder can never be more than what Wittgenstein's contemporary, Gertrude Stein, called "Beginning again and again". Wittgenstein shows us, too, that we cannot climb the same ladder twice: the use of language, the context in which words and sentences appear, defines their meaning, which changes with every repetition. Wittgenstein's aesthetic brooks no theory, no essentialism, no metalanguage - only a practice, a mode of operation, fragmentary and elliptical.
