Download or read book Lenguaje inclusivo y ESI en las aulas written by Carolina Tosi and published by Paidos Argentina. This book was released on 2021-03-01 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Lenguaje inclusivo y ESI en las aulas written by Valeria Sardi and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is called "inclusive language"? What relationships exist between its use and Comprehensive Sexual Education (ESI)? Is it possible to teach and use inclusive language in educational contexts? How do specialists characterize it: as part of a broad linguistic change or as an individual discursive intervention, that is, by each speaker? Why are there those who accept it and those who reject it? What are the main resources of non-sexist and gender-inclusive language? In Argentina, non-sexist language emerged in a massive way in social discourses from the actions of #NiUnaMenos, a feminist collective formed in 2015. Those who defend the thesis of the lack of symbolic representation of women in language affirm that the use of of the generic masculine to refer to the two sexes does not manage to represent everyone, since it hides or excludes women, insofar as it is based on an androcentric thinking that considers men as subjects of reference and women as dependents or who they live according to them. Those who, on the other hand, do not endorse its use, argue that it is a forced change, imposed by small elite groups, irrelevant in the fight for the emancipation of women and groups for diversity, and incorrect on a grammatical level. The phenomenon of inclusive language has caused the most varied reactions in society: from empathy and adherence to rejection, ridicule, and aggressive and virulent attitudes. In this book, Carolina Tosi and Valeria Sardi address these central issues on the current agenda, making a journey through different areas, from the treatment of inclusive language in the media, in educational regulations and in the Royal Spanish Academy, while recovering the historicization and promulgation of Comprehensive Sex Education (ESI) to think with readers about which language "should" be taught in classrooms. The book concludes with a series of proposals, didactic sequences and activities that account for the necessary discussion on this issue, whose debate is just beginning. -- From cover, translated.

Download or read book Las actitudes y pr cticas del lenguaje inclusivo por profesores en las monta as roscas y Espa a written by Mason John Magagna and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Gender Across Languages

Download or read book Gender Across Languages written by Marlis Hellinger and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 2002-04-10 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the second of a three-volume comprehensive reference work on “Gender across Languages”, which provides systematic descriptions of various categories of gender (grammatical, lexical, referential, social) in 30 languages of diverse genetic, typological and socio-cultural backgrounds. Among the issues discussed for each language are the following: What are the structural properties of the language that have an impact on the relations between language and gender? What are the consequences for areas such as agreement, pronominalisation and word-formation? How is specification of and abstraction from (referential) gender achieved in a language? Is empirical evidence available for the assumption that masculine/male expressions are interpreted as generics? Can tendencies of variation and change be observed, and have alternatives been proposed for a more equal linguistic treatment of women and men? This volume (and the previous two volumes) will provide the much-needed basis for explicitly comparative analyses of gender across languages. All chapters are original contributions and follow a common general outline developed by the editors. The book contains rich bibliographical and indexical material.Languages of Volume 2: Chinese, Dutch, Finnish, Hindi, Icelandic, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish, Vietnamese, Welsh.

The book is designed to appeal to readers of all backgrounds, including those with no prior background in Sumerian or cuneiform writing. It is written for undergraduate students and structured for a semester-long course: the order of the topics is determined by didactic considerations, with the focus on syntactic analysis and evidence. It explains the functioning of Sumerian grammar in 16 lessons, illustrated with more than 500 fully glossed examples. Each lesson ends with a series of tasks; a solution key to selected exercises can be found at the end of the volume. Book excerpt: The approach of the year 2000 has made the study of apocalyptic movements trendy. But groups anticipating the end of the world will continue to predict Armageddon even after the calendar clicks to triple 0s. A Doomsday Reader brings together pronouncements, edicts, and scriptures written by prominent apocalyptic movements from a wide range of traditions and ideologies to offer an exceptional look into their belief systems. Focused on attaining paradise, millenarianism often anticipates great, cosmic change. While most think of religious belief as motivating such fervor, Daniels' comparative approach encompasses secular movements such as environmentalism and the Montana Freemen, and argues that such groups are often more political than religious in nature. The book includes documents from groups such as the Branch Davidians, the Order of the Solar Temple, Heaven's Gate, and white supremacists. Each document is preceded by a substantive introduction placing the movement and its beliefs in context. This important overview of contemporary politics of the End will remain a valuable resource long after the year 2000 has come and gone.

Book Ideology Curriculum and the New Sociology of Education

Download or read book Ideology Curriculum and the New Sociology of Education written by Lois Weis and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-01-11 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For more than three decades Michael Apple has sought to uncover and articulate the connections among knowledge, teaching and power in education. Beginning with Ideology and Curriculum (1979), Apple moved to understand the relationship between and among the economy, political and cultural power in society on the one hand "and the ways in which education is thought about, organized and evaluated" on the other. This edited collection invites several of the world's leading education scholars to reflect on the relationships between education and power and the continued impact of Apple's scholarship. Like Apple's work itself, the essays will span a range of disciplines and inequalities; emancipatory educational practices; and the linkage between the economy and race, class and gender formation in relation to schools.
