Written on pages were the words of days past, and those yet to come. That book, and the visions recorded inside, were but a journal; and Navina, was the key. Lync, had no family and knows nothing of where he came from. He does know, that his female is something special. He knows that she harbors a dark secret, but his love for her is stronger than ever, and he would die before letting his Navina suffer. 'Write it all down...' He'd told her. 'Let it come...' Together, with the help of a Witch, a smooth talking Demon and his mate, a Valkyrie with a mission of her own, they will find the answers they are looking for; even if it takes them beyond the Rift. The stories contained within that book, could guide them to places they could only imagine; and unlock the mysteries surrounding Marena, and the enemy from the other side.

The eldest of the sisters, Madrina was more like her Mother, than the rest. She was quick and cunning, and beyond all else, her dedication to the rules, made her the perfect Warden of The Null. She had worked hard to maintain order in her Father's deepest, darkest prison in what was known as The Void. But times had grown tough for the Warden, and what had once been a walk in the park job, had landed her in more trouble than she had asked for. Bound in the clutches of the enemy, her heart and her mind, buried in layers of secrets and lies, Madrina must fight back against the fears that keep her far from the ones she loves; the very fears, that tighten the enemy's hold on her. Can she escape, not only the cell they imprisoned her in, but the nightmares and visions that follow? Will she ever give in, and let herself love, the Angel?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It was said, that the enemy used fear to trap its victims. It was said, that they hid in the shadows, lurking in your deepest dreams; waiting, for your will to fail. Well, first of all, Euphamia had nothing to lose. She had fought hard, loved deep, and lost... everything. They had taken her mate, they had tried to take her sisters; and now, they were trying to take the whole Verse. But how could the enemy take hold of one, who had already lived through her greatest fear? She was the youngest of three, sired by the Lord of Darkness himself. They said she harbored the darkest of her Father's streaks, that she would one day, rule in his stead; but she preferred to hunt. She was, the Hunt Master, after all; and she loved her job. So who better, to bring the battle to the enemy's doorstep, than the Duchess of the Dark, herself? Who better, than one who feared nothing at all? Or did she? Was there something, she wasn't telling them? Or him?

Download or read book Medieval Crossover written by Barbara Newman and published by University of Notre Dame Pess. This book was released on 2013-05-15 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The sacred and the secular in medieval literature have too often been perceived as opposites, or else relegated to separate but unequal spheres. In Medieval Crossover: Reading the Secular against the Sacred, Barbara Newman offers a new approach to the many ways that sacred and secular interact in medieval literature, arguing that (in contrast to our own cultural situation) the sacred was the normative, unmarked default category against which the secular always had to define itself and establish its niche. Newman refers to this dialectical relationship as "crossover"—which is not a genre in itself, but a mode of interaction, an openness to the meeting or even merger of sacred and secular in a wide variety of forms. Newman sketches a few of the principles that shape their interaction: the hermeneutics of "both/and," the principle of double judgment, the confluence of pagan material and Christian meaning in Arthurian romance, the rule of convergent idealism in hagiographic romance, and the double-edged sword in parody. Medieval Crossover explores a wealth of case studies in French, English, and Latin texts that concentrate on instances of paradox, collision, and convergence. Newman convincingly and with great clarity demonstrates the widespread applicability of the crossover concept as an analytical tool, examining some very disparate works. These include French and English romances about Lancelot and the Grail; the mystical writing of Marguerite Porete (placed in the context of lay spirituality, lyric traditions, and the Romance of the Rose); multiple examples of parody (sexually obscene, shockingly anti-Semitic, or cleverly litigious); and René of Anjou's two allegorical dream visions. Some of these texts are scarcely known to medievalists; others are rarely studied together. Newman's originality in her choice of these primary works will inspire new questions and set in motion new fields of exploration for medievalists working in a large variety of disciplines, including literature, religious studies, history, and cultural studies.

In Theology and Westworld, scholars from a range of disciplines within religious studies examine the profound questions that arise when the narrative of Westworld interacts with the study of religion. From transhumanism and personhood to morality and divinity, this book contributes to, confounds, and challenges ideas that are found in the study of religion and philosophy.
