De plus nous souhaitons également mettre en évidence que l'utilisation de scénarios sociaux peut les aider à mieux comprendre les situations sociales. Pour cela, nous nous sommes basées sur deux évaluations : nous avons tout d'abord utilisé le test de l'ECOSSE afin de comparer la compréhension verbale en modalité visuelle et en modalité auditive et un protocole que nous avons élaboré pour évaluer la compréhension des situations sociales en modalité écrite et en modalité orale. Les résultats de l'étude ont mis en évidence que le canal auditif chez les enfants autistes est moins performant que leur canal visuel. Ainsi, en ce qui concerne la compréhension des situations sociales, la lecture et les scénarios sociaux se révèlent être des supports efficaces dans le but d'un apprentissage.
