Download or read book International Handbook of Early Childhood Education written by Marilyn Fleer and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-10-10 with total page 1613 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This international handbook gives a comprehensive overview of findings from longstanding and contemporary research, theory, and practices in early childhood education in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. The first volume of the handbook addresses theory, methodology, and the research activities and research needs of particular regions. The second volume examines in detail innovations and longstanding programs, curriculum and assessment, and conceptions and research into child, family and communities. The two volumes of this handbook address the current theory, methodologies and research needs of specific countries and provide insight into existing global similarities in early childhood practices. By paying special attention to what is happening in the larger world contexts, the volumes provide a representative overview of early childhood education practices and research, and redress the current North-South imbalance of published work on the subject.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Juan Carlos Tedesco, a prominent Argentinean sociologist argues that qualitative studies of education in Latin America represent a major challenge to current research. Latin American qualitative researchers are producing interpretive studies that focus on the realities of current developmental and educational reforms. Indigenous communities, women, students, and teachers are given voice in these studies, which represent the state of Latin American ethnographic, qualitative, and participatory research. This is the first book in English to offer a state-of-the-art collection of educational qualitative research studies in Latin America. The first three chapters present an overview of qualitative research, while the remaining seven chapters provide studies that explore various aspects of education from public schools to informal educational programs.

Download or read book Dyslexia written by Oliver P. Moynihan and published by Nova Biomedical Books. This book was released on 2002 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Researchers have devoted considerable attention to how people learn to read, specifically how they recognise, pronounce, and understand printed words. These studies are helping to illuminate not only the normal process of learning to read but also the problems that may underlie dyslexia, a condition in which people are unable to acquire a high degree of reading skill despite adequate intelligence and training. When reading instruction begins, children (as well as adult learners) already possess large spoken-word vocabularies. Their initial task is to learn how these spoken words correspond to written alphabetic symbols. Impairments in this reading skill are often seen among children who have problems learning in school. Dyslexia is a brain-based type of learning disability that specifically impairs a person's ability to read. These individuals typically read at levels significantly lower than expected despite having normal intelligence. Although the disorder varies from person to person, common characteristics among people with dyslexia are difficulty with phonological processing (the manipulation of sounds) and/or rapid visual-verbal responding.
Download or read book Las musas me visitan de madrugada written by Hernán Aldo Castro and published by Libros del Zorzal. This book was released on 2021 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Hernán A. Castro
Download or read book Physical Education Initiatives for Early Childhood Learners written by Gil-Madrona, Pedro and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-04-02 with total page 431 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In early childhood education, children find in their own body and movement the main way to get in touch with the reality that surrounds them and, therefore, acquire knowledge about the environment in which they grow and develop. Undoubtedly, the progressive discovery of the body itself as a source of feelings and sensations, as well as exploring the different possibilities of action and bodily functions, constitutes necessary experiences on which children's thinking is built. Furthermore, the affective relationships established in psychomotor education situations, and particularly through play, are essential for the emotional development of children. Physical Education Initiatives for Early Childhood Learners offers globalized educational practices, didactic approaches, and proposals for intervention around motor development in the children ages 0-6 years. The book specifically explores laterality, coordination, relaxation, rhythm, etc. and how these are achieved through games, music, and motor stories. This book is ideal for early childhood educators, physical education teachers, administrators, daycares, preschools, early childhood learning centers, researchers, academicians, and students interested in physical education’s role in early child development.
