Book This Is the Way to Be Okay

Download or read book This Is the Way to Be Okay written by Maurva Moseley and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2022-05-04 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many times we are told that there is no Soul, that there is no one inside our head or anywhere else, or that there is a Soul somewhere in our body. Where exactly is this Soul and what is a Soul? This is the Way To Be Okay answers these questions and more. Some encourage us to get out of the head, and move into the body, most notably, the heart. The author has allowed the experiences of feeling the movement of her Soul (self) from her head into her heart, solar plexus and other places of her body, and none of them made sense. She now sits comfortably in her head and has been able to expand her whole spiritual and etheric "beingness" into her whole body. She could not have done that without seeking the truth of who she is through knowing and acknowledging that she is able to expand into this physical body that she has used for a lifetime. She had to become aware of all that she was, first and foremost from her head. She had to understand what was in her head, how the brain and all the brain connectors worked in unison. She realized that she was the driver of the brain and by extension the body. We begin our life in the top and middle of the head, where you enter to take over the body once your mother has finished forming your body for you. This is where it begins from the instant you are born, and when that soft spot closes over you are securely in there for the preset period of your life. You grow up and learn to follow your particular path. Take the plunge into reading this book and let it help you open up greater understanding of what you are. You are Soul, you are everlasting, and you are Okay.

Book Breaking the Circle

Download or read book Breaking the Circle written by Carl B. Becker and published by SIU Press. This book was released on 1993 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this much-needed examination of Buddhist views of death and the afterlife, Carl B. Becker bridges the gap between books on death in the West and books on Buddhism in the East. Other Western writers have addressed the mysteries surrounding death and the afterlife, but few have approached the topic from a Buddhist perspective. Here, Becker resolves questions that have troubled scholars since the beginning of Buddhism: How can Buddhism reconcile its belief in karma and rebirth with its denial of a permanent soul? What is reborn? And when, exactly, is the moment of death? By systematically tracing Buddhism's migration from India through China, Japan, and Tibet, Becker demonstrates how culture and environment affect Buddhist religious tradition. In addition to discussing historical Buddhism, Becker shows how Buddhism resolves controversial current issues as well. In the face of modern medicine's trend toward depersonalization, traditional Buddhist practices imbue the dying process with respect and dignity. At the same time, Buddhist tradition offers documented precedents for decision making in cases of suicide and euthanasia.

Book Healing Rhythms The World of South Korea s East Coast Hereditary Shamans

Download or read book Healing Rhythms The World of South Korea s East Coast Hereditary Shamans written by Simon Mills and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-03-02 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Still today, in South Korea, many people pay for the services of mudang - the intermediaries of Korea's syncretic folk religion. The majority of mudang are called to the profession by gods; their clients are individuals or small groups and they focus on the use of spirit-power ('possession') for diagnosis and problem-solving. There is, however, a tiny minority of mudang who are born or adopted into the ritual life and who have no spirit-power. These ritualists perform in large family groups, conducting rituals for whole communities. They focus far more on the use of music, dance, and song to provide healing experiences. In this book, Simon Mills provides an in-depth analysis of the East Coast hereditary mudang institution and its rhythm-oriented music, focusing particularly on the Kim family of mudang - the government-appointed 'cultural assets' for the genre. It is the first English language book to study this tradition in any depth, using materials from fieldwork (1999-2000) alongside interviews with two key family members, Kim Junghee and Jo Jonghun. Throughout, Mills includes numerous quotes from the ritualists themselves to help reveal their characters, opinions and beliefs. He documents the family's history, the decline of the hereditary mudang institution and its kinship customs, and the family's changing relations towards 'outsiders'. Mills also details ritual procedures, musical structures, playing techniques, instruments, and learning methods both of the past and present; as non-ritual musicians become increasingly aware of the powerful ritual rhythms, the music is finding new life in non-ritual settings. Downloadable audio resources featuring Kim, Jo, and Mills accompanies the book, each track corresponding to the equivalent chapter in the text.

Book Healing Happens With Your Help

Download or read book Healing Happens With Your Help written by Carol Ritberger, Ph.D. and published by Hay House, Inc. This book was released on 2008-02-01 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is illness really just the result of external factors such as viruses, bacteria, or environmental contaminates invading the body? Or, is there something more to why we become ill? Could it be that the ancient metaphysicians were on to something when they viewed healing from the adage As a person thinketh, so shall they be? Do the mind and body truly imitate and imprint each other so what affects one affects the other? And if so, is it possible that if we acknowledge and understand the impact of these elements, we could not only restore our body back to good health, but we could actually make it better than before we became ill? Healing Happens with Your Help provides the answers to these questions and more and uncovers the hidden meanings behind illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, depression, and headaches. It looks at illness not from symptoms, but from origins; and not from the perspective of curing, but from the perspective of healing. It explores the complex relationship between emotions, attitudes, and beliefs and provides a mapping process to show you where you energetically hold these triggers in the organs, glands, muscles, and spine of your body. Most important, Healing Happens with Your Help offers insight into how you can heal your body and your life by simply changing patterns and changing thoughts.
