Book Le v hicule du futur

Download or read book Le v hicule du futur written by Académie des technologies and published by EDP Sciences. This book was released on 2023-10-17T00:00:00+02:00 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book The Architecture of a Motorway

Download or read book The Architecture of a Motorway written by Claudia Zanda and published by LetteraVentidue Edizioni. This book was released on 2022-02-28 with total page 97 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The A22 motorway and the history of its project and construction constitute a unique case within the implementation of the Italian motorway network after World War II, mainly due to the exceptional contribution of landscape architect Pietro Porcinai. Complementary narratives have unfolded around the A22, concerning the policies and practices that affected its implementation, the architectural debate surrounding its design and construction and its structural transformations over time. Starting from this peculiar history, and from the study of the current and expected evolution of the motorway, this research investigates the obsolescence of modern infrastructure and the possible strategies of maintenance and preservation.

Book The Organization of Transport

Download or read book The Organization of Transport written by Massimo Moraglio and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-12-05 with total page 261 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past ten years, the study of mobility has demonstrated groundbreaking approaches and new research patterns. These investigations criticize the concept of mobility itself, suggesting the need to merge transport and communication research, and to approach the topic with novel instruments and new methodologies. Following the debates on the role of users in shaping transport technology, new mobility research includes debates from sociology, planning, economy, geography, history, and anthropology. This edited volume examines how users, policy-makers, and industrial managers have organized and continue to organize mobility, with a particularly attention to Europe, North America, and Asia. Taking a long-term and comparative perspective, the volume brings together thirteen chapters from the fields of urban studies, history, cultural studies, and geography. Covering a variety of countries and regions, these chapters investigate how various actors have shaped transport systems, creating models of mobility that differ along a number of dimensions, including public vs. private ownership and operation as well as individual vs. collective forms of transportation. The contributions also examine the extent to which initial models have created path dependencies in terms of technology, physical infrastructure, urban development, and cultural and behavioral preferences that limit subsequent choices.

Book Vehicule Days

Download or read book Vehicule Days written by Ken Norris and published by Signature Editions. This book was released on 1993 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This group of poets who gathered in the mid-70s around the alternative gallery Vehicule Art Inc. and the printing operation Vehicule Press was initially interested in gaining access to the means of production. But a funny thing happened on the way to print. The various poets coalesced into a group, feeding off each other's experiences and innovations. Inspired by the experimental environment of the gallery, the Vehicule Poets worked at the cutting edge of mixed media, poetry and video art. They took poetry out of the closet and put it on the buses, in the parks, on the dance floor and in the subway. The Vehicule Poets were an irreverent, adventurous lot, provoking both praise and vitriol from the public and the critics. Vehicule Days is an important record of literary and cultural history. The collection includes articles, essays and interviews, as well as a sampling from the works of the Vehicule Poets then and now.

Book Present and Future Trends in TEFL

Download or read book Present and Future Trends in TEFL written by María Elena García Sánchez and published by Universidad Almería. This book was released on 2001-06-04 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this book is to develop a framework for describing the field as it currently exists together with well-established views. As far as possible the book describes rather than prescribes, to avoid taking up any single approach or theory regarding what constitutes the legitimate approach to TEFL research. Of course, the personal views of the authors will colour the account provided as it is imposible to separate description from interpretation. Thus, in a way, this book involves the theories, beliefs, knowledge, methods and practices of foreign language teachers and how these can enhance teacher education. This book is planned for pre-service or in-service teachers of a foreign language at primary, secondary or tertiary levels, although the criterions examined are useful to teachers of English as a foreign language, teacher trainers, or modern language teachers involved in teaching any language whether in Spain or overseas. Our main purpose is to help readers to help themselves. Accordingly, the reader is encouraged to be engaged in an examination of foreign language teaching and learning in hope of improving his/her practice and making language teaching more controllable, more interesting and more effective. The chapters are organized into four sections. In Section I, three chapters describe some perspectives in teacher education. In the first chapter, José M. Vez focuses on the hypothesis that the key to producing well-qualified EFL teachers is to greatly strengthen their professional learning across the continuum of a career in the foreign language classroom. He emphasizes the fact that foreign-language teaching must become a learning profession in order to prompt greater learning among foreign language students and describes the innovative aspects of foreign language teacher education. In the second chapter, Sheena Davies provides an overview of language teacher education today, with particular reference to English language teaching, discusses some current issues associated with the field, and gives notice of her experience working with both native speaker and non-native speaker teachers of English from all over the world on a variety of in-service and pre-service courses and seminars. In chapter 3, we examine the perspectives on teacher thinking and teachers' beliefs in general, and about language learning in particular. .
