Les oiseaux semblent tout droit sortis de contes fantastiques; ils prennent leur envol sur des surfaces miroitantes, se dispersent parmi de sombres frondaisons. Les cadrages serrés soulignent leur présence physique. Les oiseaux deviennent presque abstraits. Cou souple bicolore d'un couple de cygnes, bec immaculé d'une poule d'eau d'un noir lustré, ailes de palombes déployées aux pennes argentées, plumes de paon au somptueux tombé: le jeu formel des formes sert de contrepoint à la saturation des couleurs. Cabrera et Albarrán laissent l'interprétation de leurs images à la mémoire du spectateur, s'inscrivant dans la démarche de Joan Miró, qui dans son tableau Bird in Space, donne une représentation minimale de l'oiseau, à travers des points ou des ombres, pour laisser voler notre imagination.
