Book The Encyclopedia of Ailments and Diseases

Download or read book The Encyclopedia of Ailments and Diseases written by Jacques Martel and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2020-11-17 with total page 608 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive reference and healing tool to address the emotional and psychological causes of illness • Uncovers the conflicted conscious or unconscious feelings, thoughts, and emotions at the root of nearly 900 ailments and diseases • Details a unique Integration and Acceptance Technique for accessing information through the heart and thereby starting the healing process for emotions and feelings • Provides positive affirmations to effect change for each ailment and disease What if your body used a secret language to talk to you? What if an ailment or illness was your body’s way to shout for help, to make you understand that you need to change your thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors? Your body wants you to become aware of the stress that you carry, conscious or not, so you can release unmanaged past and present emotions and the physical complaints that accompany them. Compiling years of research and the results of thousands of cases he encountered in his private practice and during workshops over the past 30 years, Jacques Martel explains how to read and understand the body’s language of disease and imbalance. In this encyclopedia, he shows how body language reveals specific thoughts, feelings, and emotions that are at the source of nearly 900 different ailments and diseases. The author also details his Integration and Acceptance Technique, which enables healing information to bypass the brain and connect directly with the heart. This technique disables the source of the conflict, conscious or not, that could be at the root of an illness, behavior, or condition and improves the chances of true healing. This comprehensive manual offers a tool to help each of us become, to some extent, our own doctor or therapist, get to know ourselves better, and recover health and well-being physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. For practitioners and therapists, this remarkable reference tool provides invaluable insights and prompts for healing.

Maybe we connected when your soul was not even incarnated yet. This book covers psychic powers and what are known as supernatural phenomena, plus fitness, healing, and sexuality, which are also key in raising vibrations. Our body of light and energy are presented in their simplest forms so your soul can remember their functions. Barriers and limitations created by our human minds and today’s societal constructs can now vanish. I will simply allow you to believe in yourself by sharing my life story, which includes my body of evidence of true spiritual powers. I had the privilege of being born into a deeply spiritual family and having a clairaudient spiritual coach, which allowed me to flourish and complete the first part of this journey. For the next part of that journey under the seven skies, I now need you to retrieve your immutable connection with our higher consciousness. So come with me where we can be the gods and goddesses we are meant to be.

Book Speaking with Vampires

Download or read book Speaking with Vampires written by Luise White and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2023-04-28 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the colonial period, Africans told each other terrifying rumors that Africans who worked for white colonists captured unwary residents and took their blood. In colonial Tanganyika, for example, Africans were said to be captured by these agents of colonialism and hung upside down, their throats cut so their blood drained into huge buckets. In Kampala, the police were said to abduct Africans and keep them in pits, where their blood was sucked. Luise White presents and interprets vampire stories from East and Central Africa as a way of understanding the world as the storytellers did. Using gossip and rumor as historical sources in their own right, she assesses the place of such evidence, oral and written, in historical reconstruction. White conducted more than 130 interviews for this book and did research in Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia. In addition to presenting powerful, vivid stories that Africans told to describe colonial power, the book presents an original epistemological inquiry into the nature of historical truth and memory, and into their relationship to the writing of history.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How many times have you heard someone say, Tofu is only for vegetarians? Many times! Then it's time to expand your culinary horizons while, at the same time, reaping the nutritional benefits of tofu. Author Frances Boyte and her new book, Tofu Gourmet Cuisine, will take you for a savory journey... With more than 30 years of experience as a clinical dietician, Frances Boyte knows that tofu is a super-nutritious food for everyone who is looking to reach his or her optimal health. Frances Boyte's approach closely links healthy eating to the pleasures of eating. One serving of tofu (100g) has the same calcium content as two glasses of milk and offers two to three times more iron than one serving of beef. It also contains 15g of high quality protein and is cholesterol-free. Plus, tofu is a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Your metabolism will reward you for including tofu in your diet, with a higher energy level and healthier appearance. Frances Boyte asked five respected chefs to create gourmet recipes mixing tofu with meat, fish and even foie gras for those with a flair for cooking and a health-conscious attitude. Those talented chefs are: Marie-Chantal Lepage who was named Canadian National Chef of the Year in 2000, making her the first woman to ever receive this honor; Eric Boutin, chef at the prestigious Laurie Raphael in Quebec City; Sebastien Leblond, chef at the well-renowned Le Maizerets in Quebec City; Benoit Paquet, chef and teacher at Ciat's Quebec cooking school and Jose Trottier, chef and teacher at Montreal's Calixa-Lavallee cooking school.

Book Advanced French Grammar

Download or read book Advanced French Grammar written by Monique L'Huillier and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1999-06-17 with total page 722 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This 1999 reference grammar, written for advanced students of French, their teachers, and others who want a better understanding of the French language, combines the best of modern and traditional approaches. Its objective is not only practical mastery of the language, but familiarity with its structure. Taking into account modern linguistic research, Advanced French Grammar approaches the French language primarily through the study of syntactic structures, but without excessive emphasis on formalism. It provides a generous number of examples, based on the author's own experience of teaching French to English-speakers, to help the student to understand the different meanings of apparently similar syntactic alternatives. The norms of 'correct expression' are given together with current usage and deviations, and appendixes provide information on the 1990 spelling reforms and on numbers. A substantial index of French and English words and of topics provides easy access to the text itself.

Book Imagining Contagion in Early Modern Europe

Download or read book Imagining Contagion in Early Modern Europe written by Claire L. Carlin and published by Springer. This book was released on 2005-10-14 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ideological underpinnings of early modern theories of contagion are dissected in this volume by an integrated team of literary scholars, cultural historians, historians of medicine and art historians. Even today, the spread of disease inspires moralizing discourse and the ostracism of groups thought responsible for contagion; the fear of illness and the desire to make sense of it are demonstrated in the current preoccupation with HIV, SARS, 'mad cow' disease, West Nile virus and avian flu, to cite but a few contemporary examples. Imagining Contagion in Early Modern Europe explores the nature of understanding when humanity is faced with threats to its well-being, if not to its very survival.
