Book Le dessin des dysphasiques

Download or read book Le dessin des dysphasiques written by Julie Bardin and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 534 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book L imaginaire chez l enfant dysphasique written by Eugénie Peyronne and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Classification of Developmental Language Disorders

Download or read book Classification of Developmental Language Disorders written by Ludo Verhoeven and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2003-09-12 with total page 463 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chapters written by leading authorities offer current perspectives on the origins and development of language disorders. They address the question: How can the child's linguistic environment be restructured so that children at risk can develop important adaptive skills in the domains of self-care, social interaction, and problem solving? This theory-based, but practical book emphasizes the importance of accurate definitions of subtypes for assessment and intervention. It will be of interest to students, researchers, and practitioners in the field of developmental language disorders.

Book Neuropsychology of Language Reading and Spelling

Download or read book Neuropsychology of Language Reading and Spelling written by Ursula Kirk and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neuropsychology of Language, Reading, and Spelling explores the many neural systems and subsystems that contribute to the production and comprehension of oral and written language. This book is organized into five parts encompassing 12 chapters that emerged from the 1980 International Conference on the Neuropsychology of Language, Reading, and Spelling, sponsored by the Program in Neurosciences and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. This conference highlights the neurological and behavioral interrelatedness of language, reading, and spelling. After briefly dealing with the cognitive and language development, as well as learning to read and to spell as instances of acquiring skill, this book goes on discussing the activity of the learner in the development skill, the influence of interacting forces in the developing nervous systems, and the role of peripheral mechanisms in the development of speech and language. A chapter examines the central integrative mechanisms, specifically the electrophysiological research with infants on the dependence of language perception on multidimensional, complexes processes, and not solely as a left- or right-hemisphere task. This chapter also provides evidence of discrete localization of language processes within the dominant hemisphere at both cortical and subcortical levels. The final four chapters are devoted to an analysis of developmental disorders from the varied perspectives of neurology, linguistics, neuropsychology, and education. This book will be of value to neuropsychologists and developmental biologists.

Book History of the Language Sciences Geschichte der Sprachwissenschaften Histoire des sciences du langage 2 Teilband

Download or read book History of the Language Sciences Geschichte der Sprachwissenschaften Histoire des sciences du langage 2 Teilband written by Sylvain Auroux and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2008-07-14 with total page 936 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 2 treats, in great detail and, at times quite innovatively, the individual stages of development of the study of language as an autonomous discipline, from the growing awareness in 17th and 18th century Europe of genetic relationships among a host of languages to the establishment of comparative-historical Indo-European linguistics in the 19th century, from the generation of the Schlegels, Bopp, Rask, and Grimm to the Neogrammarians and the application of the comparative method to non-Indo-European languages from all over the globe. Typological linguistic interests, first synthesized by Humboldt, as well as the development of various other non-historical endeavours in the 19th and the first half of the 20th century, such as language and psychology, semantics, phonetics, and dialectology, receive ample attention.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inhelder in her introduction. The reason for this unity is that explanatory adequacy can be attained only by exploring the formative and constructive aspects of development. To explain a psychologic reaction or a cognitive mechanism (at all levels, including that of scientific thought) is not simply to describe them, but to comprehend the processes by which they were formed; failing that, one can but note results without grasping their meaning. JEAN PlACET VI Man distinguishes himself from other creatures primarily by his abstract reasoning capacity and his ability to communicate his knowledge by highly complex symbolic processes. What is called "humanity" and progress is to a large degree a measure of his consciousness and the deployment of his creative potentials. There are few scientists who have explored the universe of cogni tion, and contributed to the understanding of the realm of knowledge, with greater genius, care, and scientific intuition than Jean Piaget and his longtime collaborator Barbel Inhelder. Professor Inhelder and her assistant Dr. Harold Chipman realized this book in spite of the heavy load of research, teaching, and administra tive duties in a rapidly expanding Institute. It is therefore a particular pleasure for me to presen t this book.

Book Input and Interaction in Language Acquisition

Download or read book Input and Interaction in Language Acquisition written by Clare Gallaway and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1994-04-14 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Language addressed to children, or 'Baby Talk', became the subject of research interest thirty years ago. Since then, the linguistic environment of infants and toddlers has been widely studied. Input and Interaction in Language Acquisition is an up-to-date statement of the facts and controversies surrounding 'Baby Talk', its nature and likely effects. With contributions from leading linguists and psychologists, it explores language acquisition in different cultures and family contexts, in typical and atypical learners, and in second and foreign language learners. It is designed as a sequel to the now famous Talking to Children, edited by Catherine Snow and Charles Ferguson, and Professor Snow here provides an introduction, comparing issues of importance in the field today with the previous concerns of researchers.
