Download or read book A Manual of Common School Law Classic Reprint written by Charles William Bardeen and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-19 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Manual of Common School Law In the second place, the authority of the teacher as a teacher, independent of that which is dele gated to him by the trustees, has been established upon a definite basis. The decision on page 140 is of great importance as fixing the relation between trustees and teachers. On the other hand, the authority of the teacher over the child has been noticeably narrowed. Such decisions as those on page 152 would probably be now impossible anywhere, and there is more and more recognition of the principle that the school is for the child, not the child for the school. Finally the general adoption of compulsory laws puts suspension and expulsion for misconduct upon a new footing, as shown on pages 207 - 210. Book A Treatise on the Law of Public Schools Classic Reprint

Download or read book A Treatise on the Law of Public Schools Classic Reprint written by Finley Burke and published by . This book was released on 2015-06-29 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Treatise on the Law of Public Schools Almost every court in the land has to do with questions growing out of our public-school system. Our educational interests are becoming of greater magnitude and importance each year. Questions respecting school taxation, contracts, employment of teachers, authority of teachers, rules and regulations, rights of pupils, powers of officers, liabilities of teachers and directors, use of school property, etc., arise constantly. Normal schools, teachers, and school officers - who are annually called upon to assume duties new to them - have all felt the need of a work which should embody in small compass what may be called the common law of public schools, and which would be a companion book to the statutory school laws as published in the several States by State authority. The statutory school law is easy of access, but the judicial decisions are scattered through a large number of reports, and are out of the reach of teachers and officers. Book Georgia School Laws and Decisions Classic Reprint

Download or read book Georgia School Laws and Decisions Classic Reprint written by Georgia Georgia and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-06 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Georgia School Laws and Decisions By reason of recent legislation many contradictions occur in the Georgia school laws. For instance, prior to 1910, a County Superintendent was required to have certain qualifications and was elected by the County Board of Education; later this legislation was modified in part and later still the election and qualifications of this official were further changed. This is also true with regard to other parts of our school system. If the General Assembly will authorize the codification or systematic and logical arrangement of these laws, it will be a pleasure for the State Department of Education in conjunction with the Attorney-General to do this work without expense or cost of any kind, and in the interest of the public, I ask for the passage of an act to this effect. The publication of a complete compilation of Georgia School Laws and Decisions without such a re-arrangement merely confuses even the lawyers, to say nothing of the officials and parents. For this reason it has been thought wise to publish extracts of our more important and most necessary educational legislation until the right is granted to arrange the laws changed, omit those practically repealed, and to print a complete and thorough school code. Very truly, M.L. Brittain, State Superintendent of Schools. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
