Book Advanced Symbolic Analysis for Compilers

Download or read book Advanced Symbolic Analysis for Compilers written by Thomas Fahringer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2003-04-07 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents novel symbolic control and data flow techniques as well as symbolic techniques and algorithms for program analysis and program optimization. Program contexts, defining a new symbolic description of program semantics for control and data flow analysis, are at the center of the techniques and methods introduced. The authors develop solutions for a number of problems encountered in program analysis by using program contexts. The solutions proposed are efficient, versatile, unified, and more general than most existing methods. The authors' symbolic analysis framework is implemented as a prototype as part of the Vienna High Performance Compiler.

Download or read book Advances in the Design of Symbolic Computation Systems written by Alfonso Miola and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New methodological aspects related to design and implementation of symbolic computation systems are considered in this volume aiming at integrating such aspects into a homogeneous software environment for scientific computation. The proposed methodology is based on a combination of different techniques: algebraic specification through modular approach and completion algorithms, approximated and exact algebraic computing methods, object-oriented programming paradigm, automated theorem proving through methods à la Hilbert and methods of natural deduction. In particular the proposed treatment of mathematical objects, via techniques for method abstraction, structures classification, and exact representation, the programming methodology which supports the design and implementation issues, and reasoning capabilities supported by the whole framework are described.

Book Handbook of Algebra

Download or read book Handbook of Algebra written by M. Hazewinkel and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2008-04-18 with total page 577 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Algebra, as we know it today, consists of many different ideas, concepts and results. A reasonable estimate of the number of these different items would be somewhere between 50,000 and 200,000. Many of these have been named and many more could (and perhaps should) have a name or a convenient designation. Even the nonspecialist is likely to encounter most of these, either somewhere in the literature, disguised as a definition or a theorem or to hear about them and feel the need for more information. If this happens, one should be able to find enough information in this Handbook to judge if it is worthwhile to pursue the quest. In addition to the primary information given in the Handbook, there are references to relevant articles, books or lecture notes to help the reader. An excellent index has been included which is extensive and not limited to definitions, theorems etc. The Handbook of Algebra will publish articles as they are received and thus the reader will find in this third volume articles from twelve different sections. The advantages of this scheme are two-fold: accepted articles will be published quickly and the outline of the Handbook can be allowed to evolve as the various volumes are published. A particularly important function of the Handbook is to provide professional mathematicians working in an area other than their own with sufficient information on the topic in question if and when it is needed. - Thorough and practical source of information - Provides in-depth coverage of new topics in algebra - Includes references to relevant articles, books and lecture notes

Book NEUROSYMBOLIC PROGRAMMING

Download or read book NEUROSYMBOLIC PROGRAMMING written by SWARAT CHAUDHURI; KEVIN ELLIS; OLEKSANDR POLOZOV and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neurosymbolic programming is an emerging area that bridges the areas of deep learning and program synthesis. As in classical machine learning, the goal is to learn functions from data. However, these functions are represented as programs that can use neural modules in addition to symbolic primitives and are induced using a combination of symbolic search and gradient-based optimization. Neurosymbolic programming can offer multiple advantages over end-to-end deep learning. Programs can sometimes naturally represent long-horizon, procedural tasks that are difficult to perform using deep networks. Neurosymbolic representations are also, commonly, easier to interpret and formally verify than neural networks. The restrictions of a programming language can serve as a form of regularization and lead to more generalizable and data-efficient learning. Compositional programming abstractions can also be a natural way of reusing learned modules across learning tasks. In this monograph, the authors illustrate these potential benefits with concrete examples from recent work on neurosymbolic programming. They also categorize the main ways in which symbolic and neural learning techniques come together in this area and conclude with a discussion of the open technical challenges in the field. The comprehensive review of neurosymbolic programming introduces the reader to the topic and provides an insightful treatise on an increasingly important topic at the intersection of programming languages and machine learning. p learning or verification.

Book Advances in Data Science

Download or read book Advances in Data Science written by Edwin Diday and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2020-02-05 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Data science unifies statistics, data analysis and machine learning to achieve a better understanding of the masses of data which are produced today, and to improve prediction. Special kinds of data (symbolic, network, complex, compositional) are increasingly frequent in data science. These data require specific methodologies, but there is a lack of reference work in this field. Advances in Data Science fills this gap. It presents a collection of up-to-date contributions by eminent scholars following two international workshops held in Beijing and Paris. The 10 chapters are organized into four parts: Symbolic Data, Complex Data, Network Data and Clustering. They include fundamental contributions, as well as applications to several domains, including business and the social sciences.

Book Graphics Recognition Algorithms and Applications

Download or read book Graphics Recognition Algorithms and Applications written by Dorothea Blostein and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-06-30 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents refereed and revised papers presented at GREC 2001, the 4th IAPR International Workshop on Graphics Recognition, which took place in Kingston, Ontario, Canada in September 2001. Graphics recognition is a branch of document image analysis that focuses on the recognition of two-dimensional notations such as engineering drawings, maps, mathematical notation, music notation, tables, and chemical structure diagrams. Due to the growing demand for both o?-line and on-line document recognition systems, the ?eld of graphics recognition has an excitingand promisingfuture. The GREC workshops provide an opportunity for researchers at all levels of experience to share insights into graphics recognition methods. The workshops enjoy strongparticipation from researchers in both industry and academia. They are sponsored by IAPR TC-10, the Technical Committee on Graphics Recog- tion within the International Association for Pattern Recognition. Edited v- umes from the previous three workshops in this series are available as Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Vols. 1072, 1389, and 1941. After the GREC 2001 workshop, authors were invited to submit enhanced versions of their papers for review. Every paper was evaluated by three reviewers. We are grateful to both authors and reviewers for their careful work during this review process. Many of the papers that appear in this volume were thoroughly revised and improved, in response to reviewers’ suggestions.
