Book Das House Kapital

Download or read book Das House Kapital written by Volker Grossman and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2017-03-30 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are, by now, several long term, time series data sets on important housing & macro variables, such as land prices, house prices, and the housing wealth-to-income ratio. However, an appropriate theory that can be employed to think about such data and associated research questions has been lacking. We present a new housing & macro model that is designed specifically to analyze the long term. As an illustrative application, we demonstrate that the calibrated model replicates, with remarkable accuracy, the historical evolution of housing wealth (relative to income) after World War II and suggests a further considerable increase in the future. The model also accounts for the close connection of house prices to land prices in the data. We also compare our framework to the canonical housing & macro model, typically employed to analyze business cycles, and highlight the main differences.

Book Noncircular Gears

Download or read book Noncircular Gears written by Faydor L. Litvin and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2014-03-06 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Noncircular Gears: Design and Generation represents the extension of the modern theory of gearing applied to the design and manufacture of the main types of noncircular gears: conventional and modified elliptical gears, eccentric gears, oval gears, gears with lobes, and twisted gears. This book is enhanced by updated theoretical description of the methods of generation of noncircular gears by enveloping methods similar to those applied to the generation of circular gears. Noncircular Gears: Design and Generation also offers new developments directed to extend the application of noncircular gears for output speed variation and generation of functions. Numerous numerical examples show the application of the developed theory. This book aims to extend the application of noncircular gear drives in mechanisms and industry.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Xenotransplantation involves the transplantation of cells, tissues, and whole organs from one species to another. Interest in animal-to-human xenotransplants has been spurred by the continuing shortage of donated human organs and by advances in knowledge concerning the biology of organ and tissue rejection. The scientific advances and promise, however, raise complex questions that must be addressed. This book considers the scientific and medical feasibility of xenotransplantation and explores the ethical and public policy issues surrounding the possibility of renewed clinical trials. The volume focuses on the science base of xenotransplantation, public health risks of infectious disease transmission, and ethical and public policy issues, including the views of patients and their families.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrical Engineering System Identification A Frequency Domain Approach How does one model a linear dynamic system from noisy data? This book presents a general approach to this problem, with both practical examples and theoretical discussions that give the reader a sound understanding of the subject and of the pitfalls that might occur on the road from raw data to validated model. The emphasis is on robust methods that can be used with a minimum of user interaction. Readers in many fields of engineering will gain knowledge about: * Choice of experimental setup and experiment design * Automatic characterization of disturbing noise * Generation of a good plant model * Detection, qualification, and quantification of nonlinear distortions * Identification of continuous- and discrete-time models * Improved model validation tools and from the theoretical side about: * System identification * Interrelations between time- and frequency-domain approaches * Stochastic properties of the estimators * Stochastic analysis System Identification: A Frequency Domain Approach is written for practicing engineers and scientists who do not want to delve into mathematical details of proofs. Also, it is written for researchers who wish to learn more about the theoretical aspects of the proofs. Several of the introductory chapters are suitable for undergraduates. Each chapter begins with an abstract and ends with exercises, and examples are given throughout.

This book was released on 2020-07-28 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: MATEMAX is a bilingual schoolbook of mathematical problems written with the premise that one of the fundamental ways of learning mathematics, in addition to being one of the goals of the subject, is to solve problems. The book is designed for children and young teens and aims to teach mathematics in an entertaining way. Problems are based on familiar everyday situations, and helpful hints guide students to develop strategies before diving into calculations, leading to practice in abstract thinking, an essential feature of mathematics. Presented in both English and Spanish it also provides equal access to students, parents and teachers with facility in either or both languages. An online supplement is available upon request at [email protected]. This companion book provides complete solutions, alternative methods and additional suggestions to complement the short answers contained in the book. In addition, while problems are arranged in the book as they appear naturally in life, the companion text connects the mathematical tools with standard curricula. Here is a sampling of those pages.
