Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who is not in distress in the present era' Some are anguished mentally some physically some by children some by spouse. There is no harmony in the family as before. Everybody wants to cook one's meal separately. The tradition of the joint family has already been shattered. One who is in trouble primarily wants freedom from it be it only a minor wound. His first priority remains to get relief from the pain whatsoever it may cost. The author of Lal Kitab had understood this principle much earlier and created trials or remedies imbibing good conduct righteousness and fundamental code of social and universal conduct along with the interweave of astrology so that the person might secure relief from the pain as well as remain connected with the societal customs. Most of the people in India are very well acquainted with the name of 'Lal Kitab' Originally this book was written by Shri. Girdhari Lal Sharma in Urdu language. Subsequently it was translated into Hindi language. Some adulteration is quite natural in the translated version of the original text. Primarily our rishi-maharshis godmen astrologers fortune-tellers like Narad Parashar Kalidas Varahmihir Jaimini Bhrigu etc. and the contemporary saints had prescribed yajna hawan worship chanting God's name rituals and donations to mitigate the bad effect of planets. Later on acknowledging the paucity of money and time Shri Girdhari Lal Sharma the author of the original Lal Kitab proposed remedies that were simple and required least expense of money. These easy remedies became very popular in India. Keeping in mind a code of conduct dharma practical aspects good conduct and the basic principles of life and the need for proper discipline in society the author had suggested the remedies which were accepted by the common men by heart. For example respect of elders service to parents offering grass to cow offering bread to dog feeding monkeys with gram and jaggery etc. are such remedies that can easily be done by everybody. The principality of twelve signs and nine planets of Indian astrology has also been accepted by Lal Kitab. The mere difference is that whereas in the prevalent astrology the ascendant is determined by the time of birth Lal Kitab always keeps it between Aries and Pisces.

I believe that a nation unwillingly held down by foreign bayonets is in a perpetual state of war. Since open battle is rendered impossible I attacked by surprise - since canon could not be had I drew forth and fired a revolver. As a Hindu I feel that the slavery of my nation is an insult to my God. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: India Vs Pakistan. No. This is not a cricket match hyped-up by media. We are talking about war, real war! This war is nothing new. It started even before the new country "Pakistan" existed, and still continuing for more than 60 years. In the mid forties, our freedom struggle movement was reaching its peak. At one point, British authorities decided they can't hold us anymore and decided to leave the country. A grand success to generations of freedom fighters! But, this victory came with an added headache. Our British rulers also decided to split India into two pieces, and create a new country called Pakistan. Means, effectively they were granting freedom to two countries, not one. This is exactly what happened in case of Pakistan too. Even after their new country was officially formed on August 14th 1947, they were still not satisfied. According to them, many states that now belonged to Independent India should be theirs. Mainly, Kashmir! During that time, Jawaharlal Nehru was the Indian Prime Minister. He didn't like wars. Personally, he wanted India to have good relationship with all her neighbors, and believed that will make the whole south Asia a peaceful destination. After all, Pakistan was not attacking India directly. If India also gets into such backdoor tactics, things will get ugly, and Nehru didn't want it. The entire world respected Nehru as a leader. So, if Pakistan makes a wrong move, they will be in huge trouble. So they were waiting for a good opportunity to attack India directly. That happened after Nehru's life time. India now had a new prime minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri. Supposed to be a short, calm person, well respected, but not as huge a personality as Nehru. So, Pakistan decided to attack India directly. Its president Ayub Khan ordered their army to make explicit advances in Kashmir, across Indian border. Now, India went into serious dilemma. Should they attack Pakistan? What happens to Nehru's peace projects? Does that mean we give away Kashmir? Everyone looked at Lal Bahadur Shastri for advice. On May 27, 1965, Prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri addressed India in a large meeting organized in Delhi Ramlila Ground. This inspired the whole nation. Millions of citizens were mentally prepared to fight the war, either in the battlefield directly, or by performing their duties religiously, by collecting money, by supporting the soldiers in various other ways. We were able to fight Pakistan and teach them a good lesson too! During this war, Lal Bahadur Shastri also coined a term "Jai Jawan! Jai Kisan". Meaning, "Victory to Soldiers, Victory to Farmers". This simple slogan characterized India's respect, for those who protect its borders, and for those who provide food in our plates. This way, Lal Bahadur Shastri became the face of Indian Public. He was a living proof that a simple citizen of India can grow to its top position and lead the country to great heights. Everyone started looking at him with respect!

The only lesson required in India is to learn how to die and the only way to teach it is by dying alone. The soul is immortal and if everyone of my countrymen takes at least two lives of Englishmen before his body falls the Mother’s salvation is a day’s work. This war ceases not only with the independence of India alone, it shall continue as long as the English and Hindu races exists in this world. Until our country is free Sri Krishna stands exhorting, if you are killed you, attain heaven; if successful you win the earth. It is my fervent prayer, may I be reborn of the same mother, and may I re-die in the same sacred cause, till my mission is done and She stands free for the good of humanity and to the glory of God.” —Madan Lal Dhingra Immerse yourself in the gripping tale of Madan Lal Dhingra, a courageous freedom fighter who sacrificed his life for India's independence struggle.
