Book La strat gie dans tous ses tats

Download or read book La strat gie dans tous ses tats written by Roland Perez and published by EMS Editions. This book was released on 2006-06-29 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2022-08-12 with total page 770 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Managerial, organizational, and entrepreneurial scholars across disciplines have discussed the topic of resilience from developed economies, yet much remains unknown on its practice during modern times and the crises that have recently affected daily lives, business, and workplaces. Moreover, few experiences of economic instability have been reported from emerging countries, where global competition, economic, social, environmental, and sanitary concerns remain as real challenges. It is essential that both researchers and practitioners explore new perspectives and tools to study resilience at many diverse levels and contexts. The Handbook of Research on Entrepreneurship and Organizational Resilience During Unprecedented Times explores experiences in different managerial, organizational, and entrepreneurial issues, particularly from the perspective of emerging countries. By investigating different levels with interdisciplinary approaches and integrative frameworks, it advances new perspectives for future research. Covering topics such as employee creativity, economic crisis, and supply chain management, this major reference work is an indispensable resource for entrepreneurs, business leaders and executives, marketing managers, human resource managers, organization behavior specialists, consultants, government officials, politicians, librarians, students and faculty of higher education, researchers, and academicians.

Book Speech and Thought Presentation in French

Download or read book Speech and Thought Presentation in French written by Sophie Marnette and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 2005-01-01 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyses and describes Speech and Thought Presentation (S&TP) in French from a broad theoretical perspective, building bridges between linguistic, stylistic and narratological frameworks that have until now been developed separately. It combines the French théorie de l'énonciation and different Anglo-Saxon approaches of reported discourse into a harmonious whole, in order to create a new and exciting paradigm for our conception of S&TP strategies. Basing its findings on actual corpora and going beyond the canonical categories of reported discourse, it shows that the study of S&TP strategies is essential to our understanding of phenomena as diverse as the evolution and categorization of literary genres, the production and staging of 'orality' in literature, the various conceptualizations of the notion of 'Truth' in fiction and non-fiction, the expression of points of view in narrative, the structuring of rhetorical strategies and the construction of the 'Self' versus the representation of the 'Other' in discourse.

Book Canada Can Compete

Download or read book Canada Can Compete written by Joseph R. D'Cruz and published by IRPP. This book was released on 1985 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the back cover: Canada can compete in international markets, but not, the authors contend, under the present national economic strategy. Policies that redistribute income and allocate resources through government fiat have weakended Canada's ability to transform its manufacturing sector to meet the new competititve challenges. D'Cruz and Fleck compare the performance of seventy-one Canadian industries from 1967 to 1981 with industries in Japan, the United States, Britain and France. To enhance the competitiveness of Canadian manufacturing, the authors propose a differential industrial strategy, one that emphasizes growth and development. Government, they say, must play a "hands-off" role in Canada's market economy, limiting itself to establishing the rules of the game. The authors recommend, in addition, macro-economic policies that would reduce the federal deficit, restrain wages for public servants, preserve low differentials between Canadian and American interest rates, and maintain the Canadian dollar at 70 cents U.S.

Book Redesigning Management Education and Research

Download or read book Redesigning Management Education and Research written by S. Dameron and published by Edward Elgar Publishing. This book was released on 2011-01-01 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The field of management education and research has become an industry of its own an industry with fierce international competition in a global arena. Here, the authors argue that a series of mechanisms has led to mimicking and thus strategic convergence among business schools. The authors further argue that this has resulted in a loss of relevance and diversity of the management knowledge produced and taught in a multipolar world. They view this as counterproductive to business schools, students, firms, societies and other stakeholders, including scholars themselves. Based in part on the work of SFM (Société Française de Management the French Academy of Management), the authors of this volume endeavour to engage in strategic conversations with stakeholders in an effort to reshape the field of management studies. Redesigning Management Education and Research revisits the foundations of management research and education, suggests ways to redesign the content taught to better fit the needs of firms and society at large, and proposes actions and concrete examples of what could be done to restructure the institutional setting of the field of management. This book calls for collective strategies from management scholars to influence some of the de facto regulation mechanisms that have appeared over recent years, such as business school rankings and the race for publication in a narrow list of academic journals. This book is also a plea for working on those issues beyond the specificities of national contexts to encompass a broader regional perspective in order to reshape the rules of the game in management education and research. Teachers, researchers and deans, as well as practitioners from all areas of business will find this volume illuminating. It offers an ambitious vision and a practical framework aimed squarely at remaking management education and research to be relevant to the demands of the twenty-first century.

Book excerpt: At a time when Islam is the focus of attention, vilified by some and a source of inspiration for others, Arkoun's is one of few voices that seek to go against the stream. His radical review of mainstream historiography of Islam draws on interdisciplinary analysis - historical, social, psychological and anthropological. As one of the foremost thinkers of the Muslim world, Arkoun is in a position to question dogmatic constructs from within, with respect and critical acumen. An understanding of this approach will lead to an emancipatory turn in the intellectual and political spheres of Muslim societies. 'Mohammed Arkoun is an independent philosopher who has rendered outstanding services to societies in the Arab world by seeking a genuinely Arab approach to reason and enlightenment.' -- Ibn Rushd, Fund for Freedom of Thought 'No ordinary review could do justice to this extraordinary book.' -- Mahmoud Ibrahim, California State Polytechnic University

Book Diversity of Family Farming Around the World

Download or read book Diversity of Family Farming Around the World written by Pierre-Marie Bosc and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-01-08 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book aims at explaining the nature and strength of the links between the families and their farms looking at their diversity throughout the world. To do so, it documents family farming diversity by using the sustainable rural livelihood (SRL) framework exploring their ability to adapt and transform to changing environments. In 18 case studies in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe, it shows how family farms resist under adverse conditions, seize new opportunities and permanently transform. Family farms, far from being backwards are potential solutions to face the current challenges and shape a new future for agriculture taking advantage of their local knowledge and capacity to cope with external constraints. Many co-authors of the book have both an empirical and theoretical experience of family farming in developed and developing countries and their related institutions. They specify «what makes and means family» in family farming and the diversity of their expertise draws a wide and original picture of this resilient way of farming throughout the world.

Book French Connections

  • Author : Andrew N. Wegmann
  • Publisher : LSU Press

Download or read book French Connections written by Andrew N. Wegmann and published by LSU Press. This book was released on 2020-11-04 with total page 283 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: French Connections examines how the movement of people, ideas, and social practices contributed to the complex processes and negotiations involved in being and becoming French in North America and the Atlantic World between the years 1600 and 1875. Engaging a wide range of topics, from religious and diplomatic performance to labor migration, racialization, and both imagined and real conceptualizations of “Frenchness” and “Frenchification,” this volume argues that cultural mobility was fundamental to the development of French colonial societies and the collective identities they housed. Cases of cultural formation and dislocation in places as diverse as Quebec, the Illinois Country, Detroit, Haiti, Acadia, New England, and France itself demonstrate the broad variability of French cultural mobility that took place throughout this massive geographical space. Nevertheless, these communities shared the same cultural root in the midst of socially and politically fluid landscapes, where cultural mobility came to define, and indeed sustain, communal and individual identities in French North America and the Atlantic World. Drawing on innovative new scholarship on Louisiana and New Orleans, the editors and contributors to French Connections look to refocus the conversation surrounding French colonial interconnectivity by thinking about mobility as a constitutive condition of culture; from this perspective, separate “spheres” of French colonial culture merge to reveal a broader, more cohesive cultural world. The comprehensive scope of this collection will attract scholars of French North America, early American history, Atlantic World history, Caribbean studies, Canadian studies, and frontier studies. With essays from established, award-winning scholars such as Brett Rushforth, Leslie Choquette, Jay Gitlin, and Christopher Hodson as well as from new, progressive thinkers such as Mairi Cowan, William Brown, Karen L. Marrero, and Robert D. Taber, French Connections promises to generate interest and value across an extensive and diverse range of concentrations.
