Entourée de ses proches et des soignants, elle a vécu ses dernières semaines à l'Aubépine. En allant l'y rencontrer et lui dire au revoir, nous avons été impressionnés par la qualité de l'investissement personnel des soignants de cette unité dans leur travail. À bien d'autres occasions, nous avons découvert leur souci de professionnalisme, d'ouverture, de remise en question, en particulier dans l'accueil et l'accompagnement des étudiants qui réalisent un stage dans leur unité de soins palliatifs. À travers les liens qui se sont ainsi tissés entre l'Aubépine et notre Haute École, nous avons senti la même démarche d'humanité, le même désir de transmettre certaines valeurs qui nous tiennent à cœur, le même souci de l'autre qui caractérise l'éthique. Il nous a dès lors semblé tout naturel d'inviter les soignants de cette unité à rejoindre les auteurs de notre collection de livres et à raconter leur quotidien, à le transformer en quelques traces écrites, pour les partager avec le plus grand nombre. Conscients des exigences de cet exercice simple et difficile à la fois, nous les remercions chaleureusement d'avoir accepté de relever ce défi et de l'avoir fait d'aussi belle manière! Des récits touchants qui témoignent des liens tissés en milieu hospitalier entre personnel médical et patients en soins palliatifs
