Book excerpt: La presente obra tiene por objeto analizar las principales novedades introducidas por la reciente reforma contable operada a raíz de la aprobación del nuevo Plan General de Contabilidad (Real Decreto 1514/2007, de 16 de noviembre), así como su tratamiento tributario en relación con el Impuesto sobre Sociedades. A tal efecto se analiza en primer término la estructura del nuevo PGC, con especial atención al contenido de cada una de las Cinco Partes en las que está dividido el mismo. Dicho análisis se efectúa desde un punto de vista contable y fiscal, siguiendo la estructura del nuevo Plan. Asimismo es objeto de estudio la importantísima cuestión relativa al régimen transitorio derivado de la reforma contable, analizándose finalmente las principales modificaciones introducidas en la normativa del IS a raíz de dicha reforma contable, articuladas, entre otros, a través de los siguientes textos legales y reglamentarios: Ley 16/2007, de 4 de julio, Real Decreto-Ley 2/2008, de 21 de abril, Real Decreto 1793/2008, de 3 de noviembre, Real Decreto-Ley 10/2008, de 12 de diciembre y Ley 4/2008, de 23 de diciembre. Se trata pues de una obra de gran utilidad en el ámbito empresarial, mercantil y fiscal diseñada especialmente como herramienta de ayuda para los profesionales del asesoramiento contable y tributario.
