Download or read book Vocational Education and Training in Spain written by Carlos Otero Hidalgo and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This publication offers a brief description of Spain's vocational training system and its radical overhaul since the early 1990s in an effort to adjust to the new economic and social context in Europe. Particular attention is paid to these three subsystems: (1) regulated vocational training that reflects the impact of reforms introduced by the General Law on the Education System of 1990; (2) occupational training for the unemployed; and (3) continuing training for those in employment following the recent signature of the third national and tripartite agreements. Other aspects, such as funding, the training of teachers and trainers, and the career information and guidance system are also covered. A brief section covers the decentralization of the vocational training system now underway as part of the devolution of powers from central government to the autonomous communities. The last chapter reviews current trends in vocational training and the outlook for them. Appendixes include abbreviations, acronyms, and a list of 9 principal bodies responsible for provision or regulation of vocational training. (Contains 20 references.)(YLB).

This book was released on 1996 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. In her innovative book, Beeby Lonsdale demonstrates how teachers can guide their students by showing them how insights from communication theory, discourse analysis, pragmatics, and semiotics can illuminate the translation process. Using Spanish to English translation as her example, she presents the basic principles of translation through 29 teaching units, which are prefaced by objectives, tasks, and commentaries for the teacher, and through 48 task sheets, which show how to present the material to students. Book National Urban Policies in the European Union

Download or read book National Urban Policies in the European Union written by Leo Van Den Berg and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-12-20 with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1998, this collection of essays compares the implementation of urban policies in 15 different countries across the European Union, with most articles’ contributors hailing from their subject nation. The contributors include experts in geography and spatial, town, transport and urban planning, and their contributions reflect fundamental changes in the economy, technology, demography and politics of European towns and cities. They ask four main questions: what the urban development pattern is, what administrative and financial relations between national authorities and cities exist, which issues the national authorities consider to be prominent and how this impacts on the national urban planning policies. Through the provision of national perspectives, they ask what can be learned through the comparison of how each region has tailored its perspective and strategy.

Book A Gender based Approach to Parliamentary Discourse

Download or read book A Gender based Approach to Parliamentary Discourse written by Catalina Fuentes Rodríguez and published by John Benjamins Publishing Company. This book was released on 2016-12-01 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does gender condition politicians’ discourse strategies in parliament? This is the question we try to answer in A Gender-based Approach to Parliamentary Discourse: The Andalusian Parliament. This book, written by experts in the field of discourse analysis, covers key aspects of political discourse such as gender, identity and verbal and nonverbal strategies: intensification, enumerative series, non-literal quotations, pseudo-desemantisation, lexical colloquialisation, emotion, eye contact and time management. It provides a large number of examples from a balanced gender parliament, the Andalusian Parliament, and it focuses mainly on argumentation, since parliamentary discourse is above all argumentative. This book will prove invaluable to students and teachers in the field of discourse analysis, and more specifically of political discourse, and will also be very useful to politicians and anyone interested in communication strategies. As of January 2019, this e-book is freely available, thanks to the support of libraries working with Knowledge Unlatched.
