K. Chesterton; pues con anterioridad había publicado The Defendant (1901) y All Things Considered (1908), que aparecerán también, próximamente, en esta misma editorial. Tremendous Trifles (Enormes minucias) recoge artículos aparecidos con anterioridad en el Daily News, donde Chesterton colaboró durante muchos años, y que están milagrosamente escritos sobre casi nada y sobre casi todo, del modo más chestertoniano. La única traducción española hasta el momento era la del escritor y editor Rafael Calleja, numerosas veces reeditada desde la segunda década del pasado siglo, pero un tanto incompleta. La que ahora presentamos aumentada, corregida y actualizada, a cargo de Vicente Corbi, restituye tres artículos (entre ellos el primero, que precisamente da el título al volumen) y una breve introducción del propio Chesterton que habían permanecido inéditos hasta el momento. Sin querer, el par de campesinos sufren con una experiencia que los horroriza de pies a cabeza en la derruida ex hacienda de El Encanto. A partir de ese momento, la vida en El Encanto ya no será la misma. Muchos, al igual que Gabino y Gervasio, creen que Epifanio tiene pactos con el demonio. Y el par de campesinos tienen razones de sobra para pensar así. Sin embargo, ambos se dan cuenta que el cacique no es el mito que todos creían. Así, poco a poco, Gabino y su inseparable amigo con la ayuda de la familia Ruvalcaba, descorren el velo que mantuvo por tanto tiempo postrado al poblado.

The main contention of the book relates to the insufficiencies of the legal positivistic approach. The author shows that with the legal positivistic approach we cannot know, in all cases, what the law is, if that is equated to the rules posited by the legislator. He also challenges H.L.A. Some other issues relate to human rights, legal rationality and efficiency and ethics. La educación universitaria no ha funcionado como debiera si esta consiste en una especie de carrera de obstáculos, que son las asignaturas, para llegar al título, que es la meta. La realidad demuestra, por lo menos a nuestro entender, que año tras año un buen número de estudiantes no se percatan de que son miembros de una comunidad llamada universidad.
