Download or read book La globalizaci n frente a las culturas y la estrategia de comunicaci n written by Laura Vega Álvarez and published by . This book was released on 2022 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book La mundializaci n de la comunicaci n written by Armand Mattelart and published by Grupo Planeta Spain. This book was released on 2014-12-15 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Globalizaciones m ltiples

Download or read book Globalizaciones m ltiples written by Peter L. Berger and published by Grupo Planeta (GBS). This book was released on 2002-12 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Developments and Approaches in Science Diplomacy Latin America and the Caribbean

This book was released on 2024-08-14 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Various challenges prevent many emerging economies, including those within Latin America, from exploring the full potential of science, technology, and innovation. One major issue is the global need for a comprehensive understanding of science diplomacy and its role in bridging gaps in these crucial areas. Existing research often overlooks these regions' specific contexts and challenges, leading to a knowledge chasm. Developments and Approaches in Science Diplomacy: Latin America and the Caribbean addresses this lack of knowledge head-on, offering a detailed exploration of science diplomacy in Latin America and the Caribbean, and its implications for development. By focusing on real-world cases and practical insights, this book provides a roadmap for policymakers, diplomats, and researchers to harness the power of science diplomacy for sustainable development. Whether you're a researcher looking to deepen your understanding of science diplomacy or a policymaker seeking actionable strategies, this book offers a valuable resource. It highlights the importance of international engagement and collaboration in achieving development objectives, particularly in the context of the scientific diaspora and emerging economies. Through this lens, the book offers innovative solutions and strategies applied in Latin America and other regions facing similar challenges.

Book Upgrading to Compete Global Value Chains Clusters and SMEs in Latin America

Download or read book Upgrading to Compete Global Value Chains Clusters and SMEs in Latin America written by Carlo Pietrobelli and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does enterprise participation in global markets ensure sustainable income growth? Policies have often been designed in the belief that this is true, but competitiveness and participation in international markets may take very different forms, and developing countries do not always benefit. This book presents a series of rich and original field studies from Latin America, conducted by the authors with the same consistent methodological approach, and represents a theory-generating exercise within clusters and economic development literature. The main question addressed is how Latin American small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may participate in global markets in ways that provide for sustainable income growth, the “high road” to competitiveness. In contrast, the “low road” is often typically followed by small firms from developing countries, which often compete by squeezing wages and revenues rather than by increasing productivity, salaries, and profits.

Download or read book The Neoliberal City written by Jason Hackworth and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2014-01-15 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The shift in the ideological winds toward a "free-market" economy has brought profound effects in urban areas. The Neoliberal City presents an overview of the effect of these changes on today's cities. The term "neoliberalism" was originally used in reference to a set of practices that first-world institutions like the IMF and World Bank impose on third-world countries and cities. The support of unimpeded trade and individual freedoms and the discouragement of state regulation and social spending are the putative centerpieces of this vision. More and more, though, people have come to recognize that first-world cities are undergoing the same processes. In The Neoliberal City, Jason Hackworth argues that neoliberal policies are in fact having a profound effect on the nature and direction of urbanization in the United States and other wealthy countries, and that much can be learned from studying its effect. He explores the impact that neoliberalism has had on three aspects of urbanization in the United States: governance, urban form, and social movements. The American inner city is seen as a crucial battle zone for the wider neoliberal transition primarily because it embodies neoliberalism's antithesis, Keynesian egalitarian liberalism. Focusing on issues such as gentrification in New York City; public-housing policy in New York, Chicago, and Seattle; downtown redevelopment in Phoenix; and urban-landscape change in New Brunswick, N.J., Hackworth shows us how material and symbolic changes to institutions, neighborhoods, and entire urban regions can be traced in part to the rise of neoliberalism.
