Book Ocio Tiempo Libre Y Empleo Leisure Time and Employment in Spanish

Download or read book Ocio Tiempo Libre Y Empleo Leisure Time and Employment in Spanish written by Luis Fernando Jimenez Guzman and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Work is derived from any activity, this provides security and welfare, resulting in happiness, the good life, man should concentrate on developing their craft because they become like gods, and to seek their freedom in activities that are end in themselves, their true life is leisure (“Skolian”) is apt for this kind of life, in order to seek democracy. Happiness is linked with the satisfaction of material needs to have meaning when they are limited, is well protected slavery as the value of work that does not allow distractions to hinder their development, avoiding material excess, but the work renders freedom it is imperative to meet the needs of daily living. Aristotle argues that happiness only appears at leisure, so the games must be conducted in parallel with the work, taking a break from work fatigue and leading to a break that emanates from the game. Happiness is in terms of the obtained and enjoyed, and an expected life is to enjoy every moment at work, it is likewise necessary to have free time, which becomes more and more in an attempt to find roots, enjoying the remoteness of the lonely. Unemployment is presented here as a threat to the enjoyment of life, underemployment is presented which should be taken into account in the unemployment, it is not a job, is a “how to get what the newspaper?” Is disguised unemployment but it is a real unemployment. This, unemployment will become more sense, though employment as such moves towards the services sector, here are tourism, which in industrialized countries generates a very high percentage of total jobs, but should not forget that in what is to happen are the effects and damage on employment. Thus, the income generated by employment make holidays a trend that should continue even if they have the means, and that man should not allow the loss of his humanity for the work, you must keep it at leisure. The challenge is then the generation of a new economic and tourism sector which results in the Postmodern Tourism.

Book An American Son

Download or read book An American Son written by Marco Rubio and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2012-06-19 with total page 393 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few politicians have risen to national prominence as quickly as Marco Rubio. Here is the full story of his unlikely journey. Florida Senator Marco Rubio electrified the 2012 Republican National Convention by telling the story of his parents, who were struggling immigrants from Cuba. They embraced their new country and taught their children to appreciate its unique opportunities. Every sacrifice they made over the years, as they worked hard at blue-collar jobs in Miami and Las Vegas, was for their children. Young Marco grew up dreaming about football, not politics. In this fascinating memoir, he reveals how he ended up running for the West Miami City Commission, and then the Florida House of Representatives. In just six years he rose to Speaker of the Florida House. He then won his U.S. Senate campaign as an extreme long shot. Now Rubio speaks on the national stage about the better future that’s possible if we return to our founding principles. In that vision, as in his family’s story, Rubio proves that the American Dream is still alive for those who pursue it.

Book Young People in Complex and Unequal Societies

Download or read book Young People in Complex and Unequal Societies written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2022-05-02 with total page 514 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Youth studies in Latin America and Spain face numerous challenges. This book delves into youth experiences in the 21st century, shaped by complex and pressing issues: the surge of youth cultures and groups, visual images of youth throughout time, and fragmented youth experiences in radically unequal societies. It analyzes young people as precarious natives in global capitalism and labor uncertainty, juvenicide, feminist discourse, social networks, intimacy and sexual affection among young people in a context of growing claims of gender equality. Also included are rural and indigenous youth as political actors, the actions of young political activists within government administrations, the experience of youth migration and empowerment, and young people dealing with the digital world. How have youth studies approached these issues in Latin America and Spain? Which were the main developments and transformations in this research field over the past years? Where is it heading? Contributors are: Jorge Benedicto, Maritza Urteaga, Dolores Rocca, José Antonio Pérez Islas, Juan Carlos Revilla, Mariano Urraco, Almudena Moreno, Óscar Aguilera, Marcela Saá, Rafael Merino, Ana Miranda, Carles Feixa, Gonzalo Saraví, Antonio Santos-Ortega, David Muñoz-Rodríguez, Arantxa Grau-Muñoz, José Manuel Valenzuela, Silvia Elizalde, Mónica Figueras, Mittzy Arciniega, Nele Hansen, Tanja Strecker, Elisa G. de Castro, Melina Vázquez, René Unda, Daniel Llanos, Sonia Páez de la Torre, Pere Soler, Daniel Calderón, and Stribor Kuric.

Book Alternative Economic Spaces

Download or read book Alternative Economic Spaces written by Andrew Leyshon and published by SAGE. This book was released on 2003-08-13 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: `A hopeful but nonetheless hard-hitting analysis of alternative economic spaces proliferating in the belly of the capitalist beast. In this book Leyshon, Lee and Williams convene fascinating studies of exchange, enterprise, credit and community. They invite us onto a new and promising discursive terrain where we can analyze, criticize and above all recognize actually existing economies of diversity in the wealthy countries of the West′ - J K Gibson-Graham, Australian National University and University of Massachusetts, Amherst In the context of problems in the `new economy′ - from dot.com start-ups, high-technology, and telecoms - Alternative Economic Spaces presents a critical evaluation of alternatives to the global economic mainstream. It focuses on the emergence of alternative economic geographies within developed economies and analyzes the emergence of alternative economic practices within industrialized countries. These include the creation of institutions like Local Exchange and Trading Systems, Credit Unions, and other social economy initiatives; and the development of alternative practices from informal work to the invention of consumption sites that act as alternatives to the monoply of the `big-box′, multi-chain retail outlets. Alternative Economic Spaces is a reconsideration of what is meant by the `economic′ in economic geography; its objective is to bring together some of the ways in which this is being undertaken. The volume shows how the `economic′ is being rethought in economic geography by detailing new economic geographies as they are emerging in practice.

Book Managing for the Long Run

Download or read book Managing for the Long Run written by Danny Miller and published by Harvard Business Press. This book was released on 2005 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fidelity, Hallmark, Michelin, and Wal-Mart are renowned industry powerhouses with long leadership track records. Yet these celebrated companies are united by another factor not generally equated with competitive success: They are all family-controlled businesses. While many view the hallmarks of family businesses—stable strategies, clan cultures, and unencumbered family ownership—as weaknesses, Danny Miller and Isabelle Le Breton-Miller argue that it is these very characteristics that create formidable competitive advantages for many such firms. Managing for the Long Run draws from a worldwide study of enduring, family-run organizations—including Cargill, Timken, L.L. Bean, The New York Times, and IKEA—to reveal their unconventional success strategies and how these strategies can be adopted and applied in any organization. Miller and Le Breton-Miller show how four driving passions of family-run firms—command, continuity, community, and connection—give rise to a set of practices that defy modern management thinking yet ensure a company’s long term competitive advantage. Outlining how these practices can enhance strategic efforts from operations to brand leadership to innovation, this book shows what every company must do to manage for the long run.
