Book G opolitique de la Covid 19

Download or read book G opolitique de la Covid 19 written by Etienne Ngoie Mbayo and published by Editions L'Harmattan. This book was released on 2021 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book G opolitique du Covid 19 written by Pascal Boniface and published by Eyrolles. This book was released on 2020 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Les nouvelles menaces mondiales

Download or read book Les nouvelles menaces mondiales written by Sébastien Boussois and published by Mardaga. This book was released on 2021-01-07 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book Migration and Health Theories Policies and Experiences

Download or read book Migration and Health Theories Policies and Experiences written by Michela C. Pellicani and published by Transnational Press London. This book was released on 2024-09-07 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together a range of contributions that analyse the links between migration and health through empirical research, in-depth policy analysis, and field experience from different parts of the world. Although each chapter has a different thematic and geographical focus, they are united by the premise that health is a fundamental human right. It is a useful guide for researchers due to its multiple dimensions in terms of both research methods and units of analysis. It can also be considered a resource for practitioners working in the field, as some contributions report on the direct experiences of health workers and analyse the challenges they face daily in accompanying migrants in health contexts. In addition, other contributions examine the importance of key figures, such as cultural and language mediators, in migrants' access to health services, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable categories.

Download or read book Territorial Shock written by Gertjan Dijkink and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2018-07 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are in the embrace of territorial shock today. Globalization with its migrants, foot-loose firms, cyber-war and surging income inequality induces political instability and longing for a `saviour'. This book puts such events in a historical perspective. New social trends collide with territorial principles (closure, identity, governance) that always have been taken for granted. Should we invest the new monarchs with the same authority as the pope (16th century) or accept other classes as co-citizens (19th century)? The answers implied a moral shift and so do our problems with globalization.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world’s problems are indeed world problems: social and environmental crises, global trade and politics, and major epidemics are making public health a pressing global concern. From this constantly changing scenario, global health diplomacy has evolved, at the intersection of public health, international relations, law, economics, and management—a new discipline with transformative potential. Global Health Diplomacy situates this concept firmly within the human rights dialogue and provides a solid framework for understanding global health issues and their negotiation. This up-to-the-minute guide sets out defining principles and the current agenda of the field, and examines key relationships such as between trade and health diplomacy, and between global health and environmental issues. The processes of global governance are detailed as the UN, WHO, and other multinational actors work to address health inequalities among the world’s peoples. And to ensure maximum usefulness, the text includes plentiful examples, discussion questions, reading lists, and a glossary. Featured topics include: The legal basis of global health agreements and negotiations. Global public goods as a foundation for global health diplomacy. Global health: a human security perspective. Health issues and foreign policy at the UN. National strategies for global health. South-south cooperation and other new models of development. A volume of immediate utility with a potent vision for the future, Global Health Diplomacy is an essential text for public health experts and diplomats as well as schools of public health and international affairs.

  • Pages : 627 pages

Download or read book Bibi written by Anshel Pfeffer and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018-05-17 with total page 627 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For many in Israel and elsewhere, Benjamin Netanyahu is anathema, an embarrassment; yet he continues to dominate Israeli public life. How can we explain his rise, his hold on Israeli politics, and his outsized role on the world's stage? In Bibi, Anshel Pfeffer reveals the formative influence of Netanyahu's father and grandfather, who bequeathed to him a once-marginal brand of Zionism combining Jewish nationalism with religious traditionalism. In the Zionist enterprise, Netanyahu embodies the triumph of the underdogs over the secular liberals who founded the nation. Netanyahu's Israel is a hybrid of ancient phobia and high-tech hope; of tribalism and globalism - just like the man himself. We cannot understand Israel today without first understanding the man who leads it.

Book Emerging Powers in Africa

Download or read book Emerging Powers in Africa written by Justin van der Merwe and published by Palgrave Macmillan. This book was released on 2016-12-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This empirically and theoretically grounded book provides insights into the ascendance of powers such as Turkey, South Korea and Indonesia and their relationship with Africa. Leading scholars present case studies from the BRICS and beyond to demonstrate the constantly evolving and complex character of these ties and their place in the global capitalist order. They also offer new theoretical insights, as well as theorisation of the spatio-temporal dynamics involved in processes of accumulation within the African space. Their contention is that, despite their supposed anti-imperialism, these emerging powers have become agents for continued uneven development. This innovative edited collection will appeal to students and scholars of international relations, political science, development studies, area studies, geography and economics.

Book Postwar Europe and the Eurovision Song Contest

Download or read book Postwar Europe and the Eurovision Song Contest written by Dean Vuletic and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-01-25 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Postwar Europe and the Eurovision Song Contest examines how the Eurovision Song Contest has reflected and become intertwined with the history of postwar Europe from a political perspective. Established in 1956, the Eurovision Song Contest is the world's largest popular music event and one of the most popular television programmes in Europe, currently attracting a global audience of around 200 million people. Eurovision is often mocked as cultural kitsch because of its over-the-top performances and frivolous song lyrics. Yet there is no cultural medium that connects Europeans more than popular music, the development of which has always been tied to cultural, economic, political, social and technological change – making Eurovision the ideal tool to explain the history of Europe in the last sixty years. This book uses Eurovision as a vehicle to address topics ranging from the Cold War, liberal democracy and communism to nationalism, European integration, economic prosperity and human rights. It analyses these subjects through their cultural, political and social relationships with Eurovision entries as expressed through lyrics and music, as well as by examining public debates that have accompanied the selection of the entries and the organisation of the contest itself. Postwar Europe and the Eurovision Song Contest also considers how states have used Eurovision to define their identities in a European context, be it to assert their national distinctiveness, highlight political issues or affirm their Europeanism or Euroscepticism in the context of European integration. Based on original sources, including hitherto unpublished archival documents from international broadcasting organisations, this is a novel historical study of interest to anyone keen to know more about the postwar history of Europe and its cultural history in particular.

Book Philosophy in a Time of Terror

Download or read book Philosophy in a Time of Terror written by Giovanna Borradori and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2013-05-28 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The idea for Philosophy in a Time of Terror was born hours after the attacks on 9/11 and was realized just weeks later when Giovanna Borradori sat down with Jürgen Habermas and Jacques Derrida in New York City, in separate interviews, to evaluate the significance of the most destructive terrorist act ever perpetrated. This book marks an unprecedented encounter between two of the most influential thinkers of our age as here, for the first time, Habermas and Derrida overcome their mutual antagonism and agree to appear side by side. As the two philosophers disassemble and reassemble what we think we know about terrorism, they break from the familiar social and political rhetoric increasingly polarized between good and evil. In this process, we watch two of the greatest intellects of the century at work.
