Book Roman Catholicism in Spain

Download or read book Roman Catholicism in Spain written by Anonymous and published by Good Press. This book was released on 2019-12-17 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Roman Catholicism in Spain" is a historical novel of anonymous authorship on the rise and subsequent spread of the Roman Catholic Church in the nation of Spain. Tracing its origin from the time of the Goths, the author opines that the violent nature of Gothic culture had a bearing on the faith as it developed in Spanish culture. He states, "The Goths had embraced the Christian religion with all the ardor and sincerity peculiar to a nation but recently delivered from a violent and savage state; for, although a generous race, they were ignorant and coarse in their habits. Their conversion to Christianity not only entirely modified their moral and religious notions, and introduced among them a greater elevation of feeling and an amplitude of ideas, but associated, intimately, the religious with the poetical sentiment, in such a manner that, in their eyes, every enemy of Christ was the enemy of the whole nation..."

Book excerpt: Our culture produces many whose goals are to create new jobs, increased profits and growth that will benefit humanity. Some, like Peter Oliver Sessions, subvert those goals, overlooking moral and ethical truths. His march to success, driven by ambition and misguided religious convictions, turns into a selfish quest for personal reward. He first uses Santa Rita as a refuge from doting parents, the Vietnam War and then to escape possible jailing for questionable stock transactions. For centuries this quiet Mexican fishing village was isolated from the outside world. When young surfers were attracted by the great waves washing into its bay, "Pedro" Sessions follows their lead. Sessions spent his war years looking for the next best waves and exploiting a tribe of Huichol Indians in order to support his lifestyle. When Jimmy Carter pardoned those that fled military service, Pedro returned to California and, after a cram course in business administration, became a broker of IPO's and mutual funds. Faced with possible indictment for illegal trading, Pedro returned to Santa Rita with a new wife, Isabella Eugenia, and a limited knowledge of real estate development. His first effort created the boutique hotel, Casa de Mastil, whose popularity with tourists soon led to investment in the project by Gringos from North America. Despite the detractions of a murder, lawsuits from angry purchasers, and adverse public opinion, Pedro continued to expand the hotel until a victim of his unscrupulous deals, Enid Williams, rallied the community to bring down his would-be empire. In the process Enid found self-esteem after a lifetime of personal setbacks.

Book Revelation Mystical Phenomena and Divine Promises

Download or read book Revelation Mystical Phenomena and Divine Promises written by Deacon Albert Graham and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2022-10-05 with total page 754 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The reader will be appraised of how God has been speaking to His people through public and private revelation for over 2000 years. A special chapter in this work deals with some saints and holy people who have had private revelations about or visits from souls in purgatory, hell or heaven. Another chapter and several of the appendixes are devoted to Marian Apparitions to include those that are approved, not approved and those appending a decision by the Church. By far one of the greatest strengths of this undertaking is the identification of some 43 categories of concomitant extraordinary phenomena and some of the saints and holy people who have experienced them. Color paintings by artists are depicted of some saints experiencing such mystical phenomena. Another unique feature of the book is a listing of some 600 individuals from the 13th to the 21st centuries who bore the stigmata. By knowing that God is present and alive to His people this book may help bring others to a deeper faith in God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most important lies about Catholicism are refuted in this book – not by the author – but by the Bible and the Gospels! For centuries, the Catholic Church has been teaching lies to its followers. Catholic clergymen pretend to be “representatives of God,” having the power to forgive the sins of other men during confession. They claim to be able to transform the host, providing wafers and wine to represent the body and blood of Jesus Christ, and the faithful eat and drink it as cannibals. Priests say their mass is a repetition of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, when Jesus died and resurrected almost 2,000 years ago. Yet God forbids us to communicate with dead people, so why would the church want Catholics to accept the great number of “saints” and “virgins” who are dead people? It is time these lies are exposed and that true Christians learn to depend on the words of the Bible, not the words of priests. Remember, The Bible never lies!
