Book excerpt: La municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) de Montmagny prévoit terminer la révision de son schéma d'aménagement et de développement (SAD) en 2015. Pour finaliser le processus, elle s'est intéressée à cette approche et permet aujourd'hui la réalisation d'une évaluation d'impact sur la santé (ÉIS). Cette démarche lui permettrait de connaître les impacts potentiels de son SAD sur la santé et de mieux identifier quels éléments de son schéma devraient être mis de l'avant pour améliorer la qualité de vie des citoyens de la MRC. C'est dans ce contexte que s'inscrit la présente étude. Le principal objectif est donc de réaliser une ÉIS sur un SAD, une première au Québec, afin d'effectuer une priorisation permettant d'établir quels objectifs ont le plus d'effet sur la santé des individus. Cette hiérarchisation constitue donc un outil d'aide à la décision pertinent lors de la mise en oeuvre du plan d'action. Une recommandation visant la priorisation des objectifs du SAD ainsi que des pistes de solution seront remises à la MRC de Montmagny à la fin du processus. L'intégration d'une ÉIS dans la démarche de révision du SAD pourrait en conséquence permettre d'atteindre simultanément des objectifs en santé publique et en aménagement du territoire.
