Book excerpt: Objectif : le traumatisme dentaire est un motif de consultation fréquent en odontologie pédiatrique et ses conséquences pourront être observées sur la denture permanente. Ces répercussions n'étant pas visibles immédiatement, le chirurgien-dentiste devra être en mesure d'anticiper les complications en se basant sur la situation clinique lors du rendez-vous d'urgence ou de contrôle. Cette étude a pour but d'analyser si l'âge lors du traumatisme et/ou le type de traumatisme sont associées aux séquelles sur dents permanentes. Matériels et méthodes : il s'agit d'une revue systématique de la littérature réalisée selon la méthode PRISMA. Les bases de données PUBMED et DOSS ont été interrogées via une combinaison de mots- clés. Une sélection d'articles a été effectuée par les titres, les résumés puis en lecture complète, à condition que ceux-ci respectent les critères d'inclusions et d'exclusions. Les biais et la qualité des études ont été analysés grâce à l'échelle de Newcastle-Ottawa. Résultats : 15 articles ont été inclus dans la revue et leurs données ont été extraites et analysées. Des séquelles ont été observées sur 35,65% des dents permanentes. L'incidence de séquelles la plus élevée est de 49% et a été observé pour la tranche d'âge 1-2 ans, puis celle-ci décroit au fur et à mesure que l'enfant grandit. Le type de traumatisme influence également le devenir des dents permanentes. Les intrusions et les expulsions sont en tête des incidences avec respectivement 29% et 27,1% de séquelles. Conclusion : l'âge et le type de traumatisme sont parmi les facteurs de risques les plus important : plus l'enfant est jeune lors du traumatisme, plus les séquelles sur dents permanentes sont fréquentes et sévères, en particulier pour les intrusions et les expulsions. Le chirurgien-dentiste devra redoubler de vigilance face à l'un de ces paramètres. Un suivi régulier sera primordial afin de diagnostiquer d'éventuelles séquelles et in fine proposer rapidement une prise en charge adéquate.
